Dubai Civil Defence Awarded 3 different ISO Certifications PDF Print E-mail

Dubai Civil Defence Department anticipates a new era of modernization under the wise vision of H.H.Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, prime minister and ruler of Dubai and the kind support of H.H. Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyian, deputy prime minister and minister of interior, and the direct follow- up of Major General Rashid Al Matrooshi, Department's DG. 




Dubai civil Defence top management has decided to implement quality management and health, occupational safety and environment management systems to ensure its rendered services are of high quality, taking into consideration various staff categories needs and requirements. 

Corporate development working team at Dubai Civil Defence following the documentation of all required methodologies carried out by its members has established strong coordination ties with all internal departments and fire stations. Such methodologies have been implemented in accordance with the Quality management, and health, occupational safety and environment management systems requirements. This intended to achieve compatibility with ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. Dubai Civil Defence different departments have successfully passed the verifications' tests carried out by B.S.I. international company, which is specialized in standards verification and approval. The winning of these (3) ISO certificates come to crowned the efforts tirelessly exerted by DCD's staff in setting the objectives, vision, mission, polices and procedures. Moreover, ensuring internal and external auditing recommendations regarding quality, health, environment and occupational safety are correctly implemented.

 Project for obtaining ISO certifications went through five stages. First stage dealt with how to train the staff, during stage two a special training programmes was prepared and given to quality system documentation and operations planning team by Excellence Administrative Services Company. Stage three witnessed the design, documentation and implementation of health, occupational safety and environment quality system that includes drafting, approving of administration's policy and objectives, documentation of main operations, and supportive work in the departments and centers, and finally identification of staff needs. In stage 4, all selected forms have been fully reviewed and approved by administration's staff in order to adopt this methodology as working method aiming at reducing time and increasing efficiency. In the last stage, DCD has selected ISO certification provider where its external auditors have verified the methologies, documents and records then  they conducted site visits to the H.Q. building and fire stations. 



Major General Al matrooshi, Director General stated; We are convinced that achieving the highest levels of customer service will become a reality only through a commitment to quality and excellence, and we were able through the application of the requirements of the quality system, environment, health and occupational safety in our department to spread the concept of excellence in all functional levels.  


 Afaf Jasim, Director of Strategy and Corporate Performance Department said; application of three ISO stanandards is a collective effort being performed by all the staffs in various departments who have effectively applied them. Now we have highly qualified and trained elements with good experiences who can do the work as per customers needs.
