Civil Defence GHQ Discusses its 2020 Developmental Plans

The Civil Defence GHQ has held its first routine meeting in 2020, at Dubai Civil Defence Directorate General Premises, chaired by Major General Jassim Mohammed AL Marzouqi, UAE Civil Defence Commander in Chief, and in the presence of Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani AL Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defence, General Directors and Departments directors.

The annual report of 2019, including fires incidents in buildings and establishments, which are subjected to Civil Defence GHQ standards and requirements, as well as studying strategic indicator results: fire rate per 100,000 inhabitants, comprising international competitiveness standards benchmarks, were discussed during the convened meeting.  

Meeting reviews also, the results of implementing “Hassuntuk” scheme for safety in the different emirates during 2019, in accordance to scheme routine follow up’s reports, and as per each emirate, and accomplishment rates,  such results was assessed compared to set targets, which are updated based on last year applications learned lessons, cooperation mechanism with others partners aiming at enhancing cooperation and activate shared plans, to achieve tangible results which positively impact safety strategy at homes, and also asserts periodically follow up of different phases of the scheme as per specified scheduled plan. 

Meeting discussed also, how to express Civil Defence World day celebration slogan content (Civil Defence in Every Home), as well as reviewing event program items, including the ability of all fire departments to conduct safety training sessions in the homes, during the month of March, and the importance of considering the development of main and supportive operations, delivered to the public, in line with Government trends requirements to shower community with happiness. 

Convened meeting focused on the importance of community awareness while demonstrating the results of the number of beneficiaries of awareness programs across the emirates, and the percentage of achieving the target of such programs in 2018 -2019, by each emirate, awareness plan for 2020 was approved during the meeting as well.

Attendees confirmed during the demonstration of Civil Defence GHQ Human Resources strategic indicators results of 2019 and comparing it with 2018 results, their commitment to Emiratization and training policies sustainability.

Mohammed Al Zaabi, Director General of Ras-ALKhima Civil Defence,

 Brig. Ali Obaid AL Taniji, Director General of Fujairah Civil Defence, Brig. Expert Ali Hassan AL Mutawaa, Assist. Director-General of Dubai Civil Defence for Fire & Rescue Affairs, Brig. Mohammed Ali AL Shehi, Legal Advisor of Civil Defence GHQ, Brig. Mohammed Abdullah AL Takawi, Director of Media Department at Civil Defence HGQ, Col. Sami Khamis Al Naqabi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence, and Col. Salem Hamad Bin Hamada, Director General of Umm AL-Quain Civil Defence.
