In the presence of Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani Rashid Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, Environment, Health, and Safety annual event, at Zayed University, was inaugurated by Mr. Al Sadiq Almulla, head of administrative and financial affairs.

 The launched event focuses on embedding preventive knowledge, demonstrate best practices and latest technological applications in the areas of environment protection, sustainability, health and safety, steps to be taken to respond to emergencies, fire fighting strategies and finally how to maintain different sources of energy and environment purification.

Al Matrooshi stressed during the events, on the importance of spreading preventive awareness across students, training them on safety skills, introducing fire safety requirements to them, and how they should deal carefully with risky incidents. 

He added, such events no doubt will enhance individual and community awareness level, contribute in knowledge impart, transfer expertise, environment conservation culture and health and public safety protection process, to become personal’s attitude and lifestyle, and integrating with other sincere efforts to encouraging community members to adopt and implement best safety special practices. 

Al Matrooshi accompanied by Zayed University director and other guests had a tour the exhibition held on the sideline of the events, where latest technologies of safety and occupational safety, including sophisticated fire and safety equipment, were displayed. 

Guests and participants praised 2 weeks long training drills carried out by women firefighting team for the girls students, on firefighting skills, which was positively reflected in their performance in (women firefighting challenge) race, organized by Department of Civil Protection at Dubai Civil Defense, and in their skills demonstrated while executing a practical drill to extinguish a fire erupted in two cars within the university campus.

Maj. Gen. Expert Al Matrooshi was honored, at the end of the event, by Dr. Riyad AL Mhaideb. Chancellor of Zayed University, as a university partner in applied scientific events.
