Brig. Expert Ali Hassan Al Mutawa, assist. Director-General for Fire and Rescue Affairs at Dubai Civil Defense, today received at his office, a delegation from EXPO 2020, led by Mr. Omar Shehab Shehadeh, Senior Vice President, International Participants Operations. 

Two parties discussed ways to facilitate approval and completion procedures of EXPO 2020 projects, assigning a special tasks team from DCD to follow and ensure safety requirements stipulated, are in place in all onsite projects, before commissioning handling them out to participating countries.

Meeting also discussed, setting inspection mechanism, ensuring alarm systems efficiency and make sure to be connected to the EXPO 2020 special operations room, identifying certain mechanisms for approving new materials proposed for use in EXPO 2020.

Approving these new materials, which is imported for the first time to the UAE, is a challenge for the special tasks team.

Major Hamad Khalifah  Al Falasi, acting director of the preventative safety department, sections heads and concerned entities from both parties attended the meeting.
