Services of Hazardous Materials Control:

The functions of the Hazardous Substances  control  Department  in providing services related to the field of handling hazardous materials through the approval of import, export and  transit,tranport, trade,manufacture and use of hazardous materials in accordance with the requirements of each preventive service.

 

- Companies must provide the required documents online www.dcd.gov.ae to obtain approval from Dubai Civil Defence  
- Set a date for the inspection and upon the completion of requirements is the receipt of a permit

Services of Hazardous Materials
Applying for Importing Radioactive Materials:

Exporting and importing Radioactive Materials will be approved after verifying and providing the required documents. In addition to that, an inspection will be carried out on the materials to make sure of their safety and its compliance with the safety requirements applied on radioactive materials’ shipping, and to make sure of the transportation vehicle approval.

 

Required Documents:                  
  1- Letter from the company
  2- Copy of trade /industrial license
  3- Two copies of import form
  4- Air waybill
  5- Import permit issued by Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulations.
  6- Certificate of origin   
  7- Copy of HazMat transportation vehicle permission card 

 

Applying for  Re-Exporting a  Radioactive Material:
Exporting and importing Radioactive Materials will be approved after verifying and providing the required documents. In addition to that, an inspection will be done on the materials to make sure of their safety and compliance with the safety requirements required for radioactive materials’ shipping, and to make sure of the transportation vehicle approval.

 

Required Documents:
1-    Letter from the company
2-    Copy of trade/industrial license
3-    Two copies  of export form
4-    Copy of approved export form
5-    Copy of HazMat transportation vehicle permission card  

 

Applying for Importing a Hazard Material:

Exporting and importing chemical materials will be approved after verifying and providing the required documents in addition to its compliance with the safety requirements imposed on chemical materials transportation  or their cargo shipment, and the approval of the concerning government authorities.
 

Required Documents:  
1-    Copy of trade/industrial license
2-    Letter from the company to include material quantity & other related information.
3-    Material safety data sheet (MSDS)  
4-    Freight bill
5-    Copy of HazMat transportation vehicle permission card  

 

Applying for Re-Exporting Hazard Material:
Exporting and importing hazard materials will be approved after verifying and providing the required documents in addition to its compliance with the safety requirements imposed on hazard materials transportation or their cargo shipment, and the approval of the concerning government authorities.

Applying for Balloon & Parachutes launching:

Balloons launching will be approved for advertisement, parties or passengers transportation purposes after verifying the required documents. In addition to that, an inspection will be done on the balloon installation location to make sure of its compliance with the required safety requirements.

1-    Letter from the executing company
2-    Copy of trade license
3-    Site's owner consent
4-    Location Map
5-    Approval of Civil Aviation
6-    Balloon catalogue

 

Applying for the Approval of   Flammable Liquids’ Tanks:
Tanks for Flammable Liquids and Hazard Materials will be approved after attesting the site plan and conducting the required inspection to make sure of their compliance with the Flammable Liquids or other Hazard Materials Tanks’ safety requirements.

Required Documents:
1-    Copy of trade/industrial license
2-    Tank's drawing
3-    Application letter from the company
4-    Location Map
5-    Tank's inspection certificate issued by an approved company 

 

Applying for the Approval of dealings with Hazard Materials:

Hazard Materials’ trading licenses will be approved after a proper inspection of the building, warehouses, vehicles, and tanks affiliated to it. Besides, verifying its commitment with the safety requirements and the approval of the concerning government authorities.

Required Documents:
1-    Copy of Economic Department form
2-    Copy license owner's passport copy
3-    Location Map
4-    Vehicles list from RTA to renew the license

 

Applying for the Approval of Hazard Materials Warehouses:
Warehouses will be approved after verifying and fulfilling the required documents for licensing or contract approval. Additionally, an inspection will be conducted on the warehouse in order to confirm its compliance with the safety requirements depending on the type of storage material.

Required Documents:
1-    Copy of trade/industrial license
2-    Letter from the company
3-    Copy of tenancy contract or plot ownership certificate.

 

Applying for license Approval of factories, gas filling factories, petrol stations and factories dealing with hazard materials:
This attestation will be carried out by submitting the required documents and conducting an inspection in order to confirm compliance with the safety requirements according the type of the premises, provided they are approved by the licensing section.

3-    Copy of trade/industrial license

 

Applying for license Approval of Gas Distribution companies (New/ Renewal):
These premises will be approved by submitting the required documents and by conducting an inspection on the offices and warehouses in addition to verifying the fulfillment of the safety requirements for transporting gas cylinders on vehicles.  

Required Documents:
1-    Letter from applicant company
2-    Licensing form from Economic Dept.
3-    Warehouses/Houses site plan
4-    Vehicles list from RTA.

 

Approval of HAZMAT Transportation Vehicles :
is the acceptance given for approval of vehicles and tankers use to transport Hazardous materials (Petrol- Diesel – asphalt- Gas-Radioactive materials- Chemical materials), as per the safety requirements. This service requires vehicle's driver and his assistant to have Haz-Mat vehicle driving permit card. Transportation vehicle or tanker must be tested and approve by Eppco Company at Warsan registration center before obtaining transportation permit card.

2- Copy of vehicle registration
3- Copy of driving license
4- Copy of trade license
5- Copy of driver permit card

 

Approval of Laboratories:

Schools laboratories and materials inspection laboratories will be approved after verifying their fulfillment of the required safety measures.

Required Documents:
1-    Letter from the school/ company or licensing forms
2-    Copy of trade/industrial license
3-    Vehicles list from RTA.
4-    Location Map
