The General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defense represented in strategy and future department has organized the innovation lab to compose and update Dubai civil defense strategic competitive plan for 2023-2026 

Mrs. Afaf Jassim Al Muhairi, Director of the Strategy and Future Department, explained that the goal of the innovation labs is to aspire to global leadership, prepare a well-defined plan, and collaborate with others in decision-making, in addition to establishing priorities and generating new ideas to foster a positive and stimulating environment and increase productivity in order to achieve a quantum leap in the civil defense sector.

She added that innovation tools such as focus groups, situation analysis, and brainstorming are used in innovation labs. This year's update to the strategic plan aligned with the UAE Vision 2071, the Dubai Plan 2030, the Ministry of Interior's plan 2023-2026, and the quality of life strategy titled "Getting Ready for the Next Fifty Years." and enhancing the quality of life for individuals in a government that is adaptable and transparent.

During the two-day sessions of the Innovation Lab, a constructive approach was taken to presenting and addressing problems at the level of all sectors, with the objective of accomplishing qualitative advancements for the civil defense service. The five major axes were discussed: proactiveness and foresight, advanced innovation, adaptability, an emphasis on impact, and cost-effectiveness.As it was presented and discussed in focus groups, leaders, managers, and officials from various departments analyzed obstacles and developed solutions.

A road map for the civil defense sector was also discussed, based on global trends, the Ministry of the Interior's directives, the development of future service scenarios, the revision of policies and legislation, and the launch of smart initiatives. This year, the laboratory focused on updating the strategic plan to support and strengthen the UAE government's initiatives in accordance with the vision of the wise leadership, so that the UAE will be the global leader in achieving safety and security.

In addition to discussing national and federal trends, including global and competitive leadership, and updating strategic plans in line with the Ministry of Interior's mission to work effectively and efficiently to enhance the quality of life for the UAE community by providing security and safety services in smart ways and an environment that stimulates innovation in order to preserve lives, honor and property.
