In collaboration with the Ministry of the Economy, DCD enhances employee understanding of innovation and intellectual property

The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai hosted an workshop for its personnel. The workshop entitled "The patent" was presented by Fatima Khalaf Al Hosani, Director of the Copyright and Related Rights Department at the Ministry of Economy, in the presence of Dubai Civil Defense Directors and employees. 

The workshop focused on patents and intellectual property as part of the General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defense's commitment to raise employee awareness about the importance of protecting their intellectual property rights. This is in support of their efforts to achieve professional and institutional excellence and enhance the skills of its members to deal with a variety of situations and challenges. The General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defense devotes a great deal of attention to the development of their staff through the organization of specialized training courses and seminars that liberate the affiliates' creativity in the domain of innovation and pave the way for talented inventors.

Afaf Jassim Al-Muhairi, Director of the Strategic Planning and Future Department at the General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defense, gave a speech of welcome to inaugurate the workshop. She asserted that this workshop is a part of DCD's strategic plans to strengthen institutional tenets with contemporary ideas and to foster innovation in order to achieve leadership. As these objectives are translated into institutional standards and values, the employees' innovative spirit is nourished, empowering them to be distinctive pioneers.

Afaf Al-Muhairi stated, "The training courses and seminars organized by the General Directorate of Civil Defense in collaboration with various national institutions are an effective instrument for the improvement and growth of its members. These events provide participants with the opportunity to acquire the most recent concepts and methods in the fields of rescue, emergency response, and disaster management. 

These courses contribute to their improvement in planning, coordination, and decision-making under time pressure. The strategic plans of the Directorate include a directive to enhance the professional growth of its employees through training courses and seminars. The primary objective is to equip work teams with the necessary knowledge and skills to address a variety of challenges, including major incidents, environmental emergencies, natural disasters, and security challenges. The Directorate is committed to implementing these plans on a regular and ongoing basis, thereby contributing to the expansion of its members' knowledge base and raising their qualification levels."
