The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai successfully concluded its participation in the 26th edition of the Intersec exhibition, the leading global event for safety, security, and fire protection services. The exhibition witnessed a significant turnout of security and safety experts from 61 countries.

As part of its participation, the directorate unveiled Shaheen, a drone designed to extinguish fires in towers and high-rise buildings. Additionally, it introduced the region’s and the world’s first electric Hummer emergency response vehicle.

The Directorate also showcased the smart FACT System, designed to reduce false alarms by integrating building sensor systems with the camera network of the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA). This integration enables the Civil Defense operations room to instantly verify the authenticity of alarms, enhancing the city’s security while making it smarter and safer.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai also signed two memorandums of understanding in the field of firefighting and civil defense with the Singapore Civil Defense Force and the Ministry of Justice in Liberia, represented by the National Fire Service of Liberia. These agreements aim to enhance cooperation between Dubai Civil Defense and both organizations, facilitating the exchange of knowledge, best practices, and expertise in firefighting and civil defense.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, the first dialogue sessions were held in the exhibition’s accompanying stage, where experts from around the world in the security and safety field discussed various topics, solutions, and innovations.

Colonel Saeed Sultan Al Rahoumi, Director of the Dubai Civil Defense Academy, presented a session titled “The Importance of Innovation and Cooperation in Enhancing Life Safety,” focusing on smart safety solutions, risk prediction, and the enhancement of training through simulation.

Engineer Salma Al Ali, Head of the Engineering Planning Department, also hosted a session called “From Awareness to Progress – Pioneering Women in the Fire Safety Industry.” In this session, she discussed with notable figures like Dana Kamal (NFPA) and Sawsan Daham (Siena Company) the significant role of women in leading and developing the fire safety sector.
