Dubai Civil Defense Department launched under the patronage of its director general His Excellency Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani Almatrooshi, in association with “Health Education Section “at Ministry of Health and Community protection, Breast Cancer Early Detection Awareness Campaign, themed “Fighting Fire Fighting Cancer”. The drive comes as part of the international events held during the pinky month of October of every year to educate the public about breast cancer disease.

Event includes awareness lectures on breast cancer symptoms, encouraging ladies to perform necessary checking, and adopting means of early detection, instruction to do self-checking on regular basis being the most effective method for successful cure and avoid complications. Different sorts of gifts were distributed at the event as well.

Launched campaign is set to continue through the mobile pinky fire engine which will tour various other governmental departments to spread the awareness drive.

Launching ceremony was attended by Brig. Jamal Bin Aadid, assistant director general for resources and support services, Brig. Rashid Khalifah AL Bufalsa, assistant director general for smart services, Col. Expert  Ali Hassan Almutawaa, assistant director general for fire and rescue affairs, Captain Hamadan ALsuweidi, deputy director of Civil Protection Department and Lady Zina Hashim Alhadidi, Public Health Section Head.
