Al Qouz Fire Station Declares First Gen. AL Matrooshi Attends Championship Closing Ceremony

Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani ALmatrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defence has attended the closing ceremony of Director General Fitness Challenge Championship in its first edition 2019, organized by fire and rescue sector for fire centers and shifts leaders, at Emirates Academy for Civil Defense playgrounds.

ALQouz fire station was crowned as championship winning team, and Nadshiba fire station was placed in the second place, while Dubai Parks center ranked in the third place.

Winners of Shift leaders’ category include Lt. Buti Ahmed Bin Ghoulitah, who was placed I the first, Lt. Rashid Al Duwais ranked the second place, while Lt. Ghadeer Saeed Rashid declared as the third winner. 

Final round revealed tough competitions between the participating candidates, who showed enthusiasm to confirm their eligibility for winning. Audience reacted positively with last moments of the championship and the honoring of the winning fire centers and shift leaders by the General ALmatrooshi. 

ALMatrooshi emphasized that, championship has achieved its set goals, entails fire and rescue squads excellence, in physical fitness aspect and sport as general, and it also displayed of real heroes who can compete in local and international challenges.

He added, participants showed high sport skills and capabilities at officers and personnel levels, stressing Dubai Civil Defense implements its sport program to instill wise leadership vision which gives sport top priority, for its significant role played in Youth care and to engage energies to contribute in development sustainability. 

For his part Col. Expert Ali Hassan, assistant director general for fire and rescue has expressed his thanks to Excellency the Director General , for his limitless support to all the activities organized by fire and rescue sector, and the leading role in participating with fire and rescue men in different activities and programs, which comes in line with DCD’S HQ  Policies and directives, emphasizing that the competition has revealed  elite of excellent players with high capabilities and skilled performance to participate in such challenges.

He praised also, the efforts of organizing committee, referees and participating centers.

From his side, Lt Buti has dedicated the victory to his colleagues and leaders at AL Marsa fire station for their continued support throughout the stages of competition expressed his gladness to be one of the championship winners.

Ceremony was attended by Lt. Col. Expert Hussein ALrahoumi, Director of fire stations department, Lt. Col. (Pilot) Hamad Balsuaida, director of AL Qouz fire station, Captain Dr. Ahmed Yusuf, acting director of Government Communication department and fire stations officers.
