Strategy and the Future Dept. organized a workshop for the "Suggestions and Complaints Systems" team, during which Mrs. Maryam bin Ghalaita, Head of Innovation Department, reviewed the federal and local Suggestions systems and their role in providing the best initiatives for implementing 2020 plan and studying the challenges facing the new team and how to address and turn them into opportunities. She also explained the indicators for Suggestions coordinators.
This comes as a result of Dubai Civil Defense commitment to support innovative ideas, provide the best services to employees and customers and achieve sustainable performance development that enhance performance quality and efficiency of "Suggestions and Complaints Systems" team, in order to achieve the customer’s satisfaction, exceed their expectations and improve the quality of services.
Strategy and Future Department held the first meeting of the "Civil Defense Model for Key Operations", which was chaired by Mrs. Afaf Jassim ALMuheiri , the Director of Strategy & Future Department, to review the analysis of the key operations of the departments of DCD, the link between each process and the other, and its direct impact on achieving the goals and vision in protecting lives and property.
H.E. Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, participated in the activities of "Al Nahda Cultural Heritage" festival organized by Dubai Women's Association – Al Lisaili, in its 11th edition.
Department of Civil Protection “Awareness Section” participated in the event. In the presence of Mrs. Alyazia Khalifa Al Sabousi, Director of Al Nahda Women's Association - Al Lisaili Branch, Mr. Rashid Khalifa Al Sabousi, General Supervisor of the Heritage Village at Al Nahda Cultural Heritage festival, Mr. Mohammad Al Muhairi, event’s organizer and general coordinator of the 5th Perfumes Show, and the poet Thani Balhilli.
The festival is one of the most prominent events that reflect the noble heritage of UAE, as it enhances the concept of authenticity among all members of the society through the accompanying activities, and motivates future generations to get to know the UAE heritage and cultural values.
Dubai Civil Defense participation was effective through the workshops organized by the Department of Civil protection “Awareness Section” and Al Lisaili fire station. The event aimed at spreading awareness of fire hazards and establishing it as a community culture for all members of the society to contribute in enhancing prevention, protection and safety. The festival also included draw and paint corner and Salem Firefighter show.
H.E. Al Matrooshi visited the pavilions of the heritage exhibition accompanying the festival’s activities, handicrafts, traditional dishes and arabic coffee corners. He also attended traditional artistic and theatrical performances and games that embodied the lives of the ancestors and the first generation, and expressed the Emirati society in the past decades.
H.E. Al Matrooshi praised the efforts of Dubai Women's Association – Al Lisaili and their keenness to hold a cultural heritage festival, as it is a major support for the strategy of safeguarding UAE’s values and culture, stressing that the participation of Dubai Civil Defense in these activities is consistent with the directions of the wise Leadership of preserving our cultural heritage, in a way that enhances our Arab and National identity, and to highlight the spirit of UAE heritage and authentic customs.

in appreciation of his societal role and civil defense contributions in spreading awareness and protecting lives and property.
Brigadier Rashid Khalifa Al Falasi, Assistant Director General for Smart Services, chaired the periodic meeting of Smart Services sector departments, where he reviewed the most important recommendations from the previous meeting, the progress of digital transformation implementation plan set for of all Civil Defense services, and the practical steps to transform into a paperless organization in all transactions and operations during the current year, which is part of Dubai government 2021 Plan, to implement Dubai paperless strategy.
Several development initiatives - that are consistent with Smart Dubai strategy- were discussed in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Lt. Col. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Ali, Acting Director of Smart Systems Department, Mr. Issa Belshalat, Director of Information Technology Department, Captain Ali Salem bin Ghalaita, Head of Communications Section, and Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Ali, Head of Systems Development Section.
H.E. Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, visited the "Carpet Oasis" exhibition in its "25th edition" at Marina Port Rashid, which was inaugurated by Sultan Bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman and CEO and Chairman of Ports.
H.E. Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, and Brigadier Rashid Khalifa Al Buflasa, Assistant Director General for Smart Services, took a tour in exhibition pavilions to view handmade carpets, rare pieces and a number of artworks, which are associated with many cultures and countries.
H.E. Al Matrooshi also met with HE Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, and H.E Chancellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of Dubai, on the sidelines of the exhibition, stressing the importance of this exhibition which is one of the major events taking place in Dubai, and its role in highlighting the cultural aspect of Dubai and economy diversity and contributing to attracting global investments.
In the presence of H.E. Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, Strategy and Future Department held interviews -over two days- for the candidates compete in Dubai Government Excellence Program 2020, through which reports of achievements were reviewed according to the updated Program criteria. The meetings were chaired by Mrs. Afaf Jassim ALMuherie, the Director of Strategy & Future Department, and Mrs. Suhad Al Masri, the Excellence Expert.
Mrs. Afaf ALMuherie stressed that personal interviews and viewing files are important factors to choose DCD final candidates list, to participate in Dubai Government Excellence Program 2020, through which we focus on applying modern methods that contribute to improving employee performance and work development, confirming that due to the high competition among employees, the best and most distinguished files will have the priority, in order to achieve positive results in the Program.

During his speech, H.E. Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense congratulated all officers who received the promotions granted by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. That was during the ceremony held at Civil Defence Academy in the presence of Brigadier Jamal bin Adhed Al Muhairi, Assistant Director General for Resources & Support Services, Brigadier Rashid Khalifa Al Falasi, Assistant Director General for Smart Services, and Brigadier Expert Ali Hassan Al Mutawa, Assistant Director General for Fire & Rescue. H.E. Al Matrooshi hoped that the promotion would be an Incentive to move forward in their honorable career and make fruitful efforts to achieve excellence. He also invited all the promoted officers to continue their professional specialized work, affirming they are worthy of this trust granted by the wise Leadership.
Al Matrooshi said: Dubai Civil Defense, in light of the support of our wise Leadership, continues its unremitting efforts with outstanding performance to reach the best levels as an international pioneering organization, and to preserve UAE’s international achievements, stressing that the Civil Defense works in accordance with best directions to enhance its vision and achieve its goals with regards to safety, prevention and protection of lives and property.
Brigadier Jamal bin Adhed Al Muhairi, Assistant Director General for Resources & Support Services, expressed the deepest thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the promotion of DCD officers. He also praised the performance and professional competence of the promoted officers, stressing that DCD is keen to upgrade the staff to the highest levels which also is the priority of its strategy and future directions that are consistent with the visions of the wise leadership for the next fifty years, through using the latest training and educational programs and spreading culture of innovation and professional excellence and its reflection on the happiness of customers and life quality.

H.E. Humaid Al Qutami, Director General of Dubai Health Authority, visited the Directorate General of Dubai Civil Defense, to learn about the readiness of Dubai Civil Defense, and its plans to secure New Year's Eve celebrations in general, and the "Boulevard and Burj Khalifa" area in particular, as part of the integrated work system in the Supreme Committee for Events in Dubai.
Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, received H.E. Al Qutami and the accompanying delegation which included H.E. Khalifa aldrai, Executive Director of Dubai Corporation Ambulance Services and H.E. Nasser Khalifa Al Budoor, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health and Director of Dubai Medical District.

Confirmed the readiness of Civil Defense to secure the New Year’s celebrations in the Emirate. This was during his speech at press conference held by the GHQ of the Dubai Police to announce the plans to secure the New Year's celebrations. The conference was attended by
His Excellency Major General Abdullah Al Ghaithi, Director of the General Department of Organization Protective Security and Emergency and the head of Events Securing Committee, General Directors of member departments in the Supreme Committee for Events, and representatives of various media.
Al Matrooshi said: Dubai Civil Defense professionally performs its roles and responsibilities and carries out its tasks efficiently and effectively, as a main member of Events Securing Committee wich concerned with securing all events, celebrations and accompanying activities that take place in Dubai in general and in the "Boulevard and Burj Khalifa" area in particular, and that includes the procedures of evaluating the level of safety before the event in all buildings, facilities and sites designated for the celebrations to ensure the safety of all the participants. "
Al Matrooshi has revealed that Civil Defense plan to secure the celebrations includes the participation of more than 600 senior and junior officers in addition to 70 state-of-the-art firefighting specialist vehicles, stressing that civil defense teams and units in all 21 fire stations and 2 marine posts are on standby and ready to protect lives and property from fire hazards.
Al Matrooshi announced that events securing plan divides Dubai into three main sectors: “Bur Dubai, Deira and Jebel Ali”, in addition to the waterfront sector, where each sector is supervised by a “Gold Commander” associated with a group of operational teams led by “Executive Commanders”. He added that the smart and electronic Operations Room in the HQ of Dubai Civil Defense, is fully prepared and linked to the mobile operations unit "Crisis Unit”, which will be located in “Burj Khalifa” area.
Al Matrooshi noted that the provision of information about events securing in 25 different locations and all related information for local and international media will be through the mobile media unit located along the events tracks starting from the central operations room in Burj Khalifa.
Directorate General of Dubai Civil Defense concluded the educational and entertainment activities and programs for orphans during the winter camp at Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children over a period of two weeks, which were organized by Government Communication Department in cooperation with Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation. The event comes as part of the social responsibility of Dubai Civil Defense and its policy to interact with all segments of the society.
The closing ceremony included a presentation on the nature of Dubai Civil Defense responsibilities in protecting lives and property and firefighters’ contributions in enhancing the Vision and Strategy, as well as a theatre performance entitled "Journey 2117", through which the children mimicked Mankind's journey into space. The children also performed a musical entitled "The First Dream", Shadow Fantasy Gallery, and Artworks Pavilion.
The events and programs for orphans organized by Dubai Civil Defense over a period of two weeks to motivate them to actively participate psychologically and intellectually, in order to enhance their talents through the accompanying activities included upgrading their skills in drawing and painting, trips to cinemas, exercises in theatrical performance.
Civil defense programs throughout the camp focused on raising awareness among the children so that they are fully aware of dealing with various types of accidents in a way that guarantees their safety.
Activities also included regular visits to City Walk.
Lt. Col. Ismail Abdullah Ahmed, Director of Port Said fire station, stressed that Dubai Civil Defense performs its social responsibility through organizing activities that include strategic partners, and today we celebrate the conclusion of the winter camp for orphans who represent an important segment of the society, as the civil defense works to support them by devoting the human and social dimension to serve all segments of the society, which reflects the depth of our vision and philosophy.
He added: Dubai Civil Defense has active roles in social responsibility and the sustainability of humanitarian work through continuous activities that will be positively reflected on results indicators, stressing that the winter camp achieved its goals of motivating the children, enhancing their talents and encouraging them to practice their hobbies.
In addition, Captain Dr. Ahmed Yousef Al Shanqiti, Acting Director of Government Communication Department, explained that Dubai Civil Defense has active roles in social responsibility and the sustainability of humanitarian work through continuous activities that will be positively reflected on results indicators, stressing that the winter camp achieved its goals of motivating the children, enhancing their talents and encouraging them to practice their hobbies.
The event was held in the presence and participation of the Government Communication Dept. team and Mr. Adel Omar, Senior Director of Special and Media Projects and Acting Executive Director of Al Jalilah Center for Child Culture.
In the presence and participation of His Excellency Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, Civil Protection Department “Public Health Section” organized an event of “I am Healthy - Diabetes awareness through healthy food” for firefighters at Nad Al Sheba fire station. The event was held in cooperation with Dubai Health Authority, as part of the efforts to sustain healthy activities and events designed specially to facilitate the individual’s choice of appropriate healthy behavior.
The activities included testing sugar level in the body, physical competitions for firefighters and awareness lecture about diabetes; its types, causes, risk factors, symptoms, complications, treatment and prevention, as well as focusing on sports activities and choosing appropriate healthy diet.
Al Matrooshi also visited the "Happiness Platform" as part of the initiative's activities, and met with Naama Al Shamsi, Head of Family and Youth Department at the Community Development Authority, and many other public figures participating in the event. Al Matrooshi addressed many aspects that support cooperation and promote meaningful communication that enhances the role of society institutions.
Al Matrooshi praised the initiative, stressing that it urges firefighters to achieve physical, mental and psychological integration, and enhances disease prevention and health preservation to live happily. It also contributes to the sustainability of fire fighters effectiveness while performing their role to protect lives and property, noting that he personally fully supports all activities that enhance the health of Dubai Civil Defense staff.
The Human Resources Department at the Directorate General of Dubai Civil Defense held “The Transparency Hour” with the employees in an open meeting, with the aim of listening directly to their inquiries, clarifying the points related to Dubai Government human resources, in terms of legislation and laws regulating employees’ rights and responsibilities, and familiarizing them with the latest updates in this regard.
The initiative comes as part of DCD policy aiming at improving communication channels at all levels and establishing the values of dialogue and transparency, which will achieve the required addition to reach the level of occupational excellence that facilitates the way for the success journey which reflects the vision and strategy of officials in Dubai Civil Defense.
Captain Abdul Rahman Mohammad Ahli, Deputy Director of Human Resources Department, emphasized that Dubai Civil Defense is working to provide the employee’s needs, whether in the administrative or scientific aspects, as this initiative comes as part of the communication strategies of providing an atmosphere that stimulates institutional excellence. Captain Abdul Rahman stressed that the meeting included a detailed explanation about all legal provisions in Dubai Government Human Resources Law.
