Department of Civil protection “Awareness Section”, has organized a campaign branded “Our Winter is safe and Assured”, at the wintry camps located in Tai area, with the aim to educate audience about fire risks protection, carrying out inspection visits to make sure camps safety measures set by Dubai Civil Defense are in place, to avoid any potential incidents and ensure public safety.

Worth mentioning, Dubai Civil Defense regularly organizes preventive awareness campaigns, which encompass checking safety level at each camp, correcting violation situations if any, educate and provide audience with awareness publications, train them on how to use fire extinguishers, instruct not to use tents to stow, avoid using oven, heaters and cookers inside tents.

In the presence of Col. Suleiman Abdullkarim AlBloushi, director of Technical Affairs Department, Lt. Col. Jamal Ahmed Ibrahim, director of Services and Supplies department, and Major Dr. Abdullrahman Mohammed AlBloushi, acting director of financial affairs department, Physical Resources workshop was held, as part of Dubai Civil Defense HQ work agenda, to participate in Dubai Government Excellence Program 2020, leading Entity Category.

Where, Lady Sharifah AL Mazmi, head of Excellence and Competitiveness section, and member of HHA team, has presented a illustrative explanation of standards which relate to work team axis, how to implement (competency) form to achieve indicators required, identify challenges and developmental initiatives at physical, financial resources management, to ensure DCD’s strategic goals and Government of Dubai goals are achieved.

Col. Suleiman confirmed that, Himmah Hatta AL Qimmah workshops enhance Dubai Civil Defense operations and its efforts seeking to achieve physical resources efficiency and effectiveness to support strategies and policies, assure its optimal usage, which in turn lead to obtain best results in areas of specialty, adding workshop has addressed practical steps to be taken to ensure required measurements indicators of usage competency results, and in warehouses management, usage of environmentally friendly materials, maintenance operations and reduction in usage of nonrenewable materials  are achieved.

In the second workshop which was attended by Captain Ali Mohammed Bu AL Flasah, deputy director of fire stations department, Captain Omer Bal Jaflah, head of disasters and crisis section, and Mr. Kamal Abdu Mohammed, Legal Advisor, Mr. Sharif Baltaji, Financial Advisor, Lady ALmazmi also reviewed with Governance team members, practical plans to raise efficiency and effectiveness of the general framework of Governance, in a way accountability and transparency principles are ensured, in all issues relate to performance and risks management , and the extent to which commitment to laws and regulations is implemented, to achieve pioneer results in both fields.

Axis related to set and implementing comprehensive and effective Governance policies in all DCD’s activities, so all works, and decisions taken shall be in favor of Headquarters interest. , were also addressed.2019 12 16 1NA

During the fifth session branded “30 minutes with a leader” Lt. Col. Jamal Ahmed Ibrahim praised directive and polices of the wise leadership set to ensure Government services ongoing improvement process, to achieve highest pioneering levels, which assures sustainable development and embedding UAE prominent position achieved at different areas, and motivate the Youth towards excellence and development in all walks of life.

He stressed that, DCD is inspired by the same directives, and it seeks to practically implement them on its main and supportive operations, based on its role in supporting growth and development march, and providing high quality services to ensure customers happiness. 

Fifth session themed “Efficiency of Pioneering Services” which was delivered by Lt. Col. Jamal Ahmed, organized by Civil Defense Youth Councils, which aiming at imparting accumulated acquired experiences, documenting the knowledge in areas of specialty, and inspiring youth with innovative ideas of leaders who worked for more than 20 years,  in different fields, and enhance youth’s role in various areas.

Jamal pointed out to the importance of involving the youth  in renewable ideas within coming 50 years, also providing new initiatives which will achieve leadership in different services sectors, and meet customers satisfaction and assure their happiness, confirming youth are the potential leaders of the future, and their participation reflect the bright image of our present flourishing reality.

He urged youth to keep pace with scientific development, and making use of latest technologies, artificial intelligence in reshaping the future, within the framework of ongoing improvement operations witnesses in services line to achieve global leadership.

Jamal also, indicated that devaluing leadership skills through learning is essential, as leadership requires knowing human knowledge motivated abilities, to broaden the scope.

Assistant Director General of Dubai Civil Defense for Smart Services, Brigadier Rashid Khalifah AL Buflasah, has received a high-ranking officer’s delegation from Ministry of Interior and Safety of South Korea, currently visiting the country within International Civil Protection Organization and Civil Defense Departments of member states, to attend Organization Training Directors 4th Meeting held between 11-12 December 2019, at Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Academy.

Brig. Rashid confirmed that the delegation has reviewed DCD’S ability and capabilities in fires fighting line, approved plans compared with other countries, disasters response protocol and evacuation facilities.

Delegation also reviewed programs, initiatives and innovations achieved by Dubai Civil Defense at its different main and supportive operations, its best practices implemented in fire and rescue and civil protection fields, to ensure safety and happiness of individuals and community, and protection.  Of national achievements, he added.

Lt. Col. Mutran Khalil, Director of Operations department, indicated that, delegation’s visit falls   under cooperation and exchanging success experiences, it includes showing fire incident reporting mechanism, handling and fire and rescue squads dispatch to incident scene, beside demonstrating DCD’S plans and work process at fire centers, introducing latest equipment and apparatus used, as well as best practices implemented during emergency situations.

Brig. Rashid Khalifah Al Buflasah, assistant Director General of Smart Services, has received at his office, Maj. Gen. Engineer (Staff) Ahmed Zaki Mohammed Hassan Abadeen, CEO, and Managing Director of Egyptian Administrative Metropolitan Company for Urban Development and his accompanied delegation. 

Delegation’s visit purpose was to review 24X7 system applications, and listened to the detailed explanation about the system, which was delivered by Lt. Col. Abdullrahman AL Ali, acting director of smart systems department, including system categories, and implementations, at all buildings and establishments in the emirate of Dubai, including high rise and warehouses, usage of latest technology known to automatically send signals during emergencies, displaying data and other information about incident scene, to ensure quick response at emergency situations. 

Delegation members also reviewed various programs, initiatives and innovations DCD achieves in its main and supportive operations, knowing best practices applied in specialty area, ongoing safety measures update at buildings and establishments, as well as reviewing its successful experiences.

AL Buflasah stressed that, the visit reflects the deep- rooted fraternal ties between UAE and Egypt, and cooperation in different areas.

He praised administrative capital project and ambitious developmental schemes, confirming that it includes discussion over many substantial points in specialty work, and demonstrating 24x7 system, implemented in Dubai which has achieved a huge success, and contributed positively in fostering safety of lives and properties, via connection with central operations room, round the clock, and by using cutting edge technology to monitor alarm systems installed in buildings and establishments. 

Meeting was attended by Lt. Col. Mutran Khalil Ibrahim, Director of Operations Department and 24x7 officials.

Dubai Civil Defense employees participating in 2 days long “trainer’s preparation Professional Diploma” training course, held at Sharjah University, have reviewed the “Training Packages”, which contain 19 bags, designed according to the specialization of each one, and based on main axes, from training system designing stage, training activities components, its concepts, principles and goals, training activity planning, preparing and analyzing training needs, until designing and implementing training program.  

Participants revealed excellent capabilities of lectures’ presentation and delivery, training methods, planning and workshops, applying audio- visual means in training operation, presenting scientific material in an interesting way. The way all trainees performed was excellent. 

Training Packages reflect strategic and futuristic dimension of work of specialty, such as “emergency plan Package”, home fire alarm systems operation and assessment, fire incident management and primary schools civil awareness methods , civil employee functional performance new management system applied at Dubai Civil Defense, and marine transportation means fire incident management system. 

Worth mentioning is that, “trainer’s preparation Professional Diploma” is a training program sets in cooperation with Sharjah University, with the aim to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and behavior necessary to perform tasks relate to deliver courses and impart knowledge to others, as part of DCD”S strategy and plans to sustain ongoing learning and assure training program sustainability.

Dubai Civil Defense has concluded its training course titled” Strategy and how to set Performance Indicators”, held at Desert Palm Hotel Dubai, in the presence and participation of Major Mohammed Abdullrahaman AL Saleh, director of Support and Backup center. 

Held course comes as part of DCD’S strategic plans, aiming at personnel training and qualifying sustainability, developing trainee’s knowledge and skills that relate to strategy and performance indicators setting.

Course also aims at providing trainees with work environment analysis method and tools identify measurement indicators auditing, that suits nature of the work, performance indicators types, and factors to be considered in main performance indicators and challenges faced. 

Course also includes axis of introducing strategic concepts and principles, its importance and motives to implement at Dubai Civil Defense, checking performance measurement main criteria, merits and types, phases of strategic planning, factors that must be taking into consideration upon designing vision, message and values, and work environment strategic analysis.

Dubai Civil Defense has concluded "Artificial Intelligence, Introduction and Applications " training course, held at Desert Palm Hotel Dubai, in the presence of 1st Lt. Hamad Thani, head of Sport and Physical Fitness Section, which aims to demonstrate the importance of Artificial Intelligence, and its  concept and support technology, as well as its future.

Axis include AI concept, current and future applications, AI scopes. Learning computer and nerve networks, deep learning, ability to understand multiple languages, in addition to services that should be included in Artificial Intelligence in soon future were among the issues addressed in the course.

Dubai Civil Defense has participated in First Aid Six Forum activities, organized by Emirates Red Crescent, at Dust 2 Hotel in Abu Dhabi, which aims to communicate to its strategic partners and the Paramedics the latest technologies witnessed in

First Aid line, as well as latest medical equipment and apparatus.

Dubai Civil Defense was honored at the end of event, as one of strategic partners, in recognition of its valued role in making Red Crescent events and activities a successful. Lt. Jaber Zafer Ahbabi, head of Strategic Partners Section received the certificate on behalf of Dubai Civil Defense.

Himma Hatta AL Qimmah Initiative’s workshops continue to take place, in line with Dubai Civil Defense HQ agenda to participate in Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP) 2020, Pioneering entity category. 

Workshop was held in the presence of Director of Human Resources department, department’s officers, sections heads and other concerned staff of “Human Capital Formation and Emiratization” team, where Eng. Suhad ALmasri, HHA initiative’s team member, delivered detailed explanation about the criteria related to the axis of team work, methods to implement (Competency) form, to achieve r indicators required , identify challenges and development initiatives in the field of Human Capital Formation and Emiratization move, in a way that ensures  DCD’s strategic goals and Dubai Government goals are achieved. 

Director of Human Resources Department has confirmed that regular workshops taking place during this time, contribute greatly in supporting DCD’s trends, and implementing its innovative-based strategy while delivering services to customers, due to its huge impact on ongoing improvement opportunities and development operation sustainability aiming at achieving global leadership.

She also indicated that, axis have included planning and assets management, physical resources management, human capital formation development , and Emiratization through innovative work, and linking them strategic goals, to achieve best measurement indicators, confirming focus was made on enhancing support initiatives aiming to increase functional satisfaction, working environment positivity to booster institutional loyalty value.

In addition, practical steps to support wise leadership directives was reviewed, to sustain Emirati human resources, throw DCD designed programs.
