Col. expert Ali Hassan Almutawaa, assistant director general for fire and rescue affairs and Col. Suliman Abdullkarim, director of Technical Affairs department were present during the ceremony of delivering the vehicles to fire and rescue centers in the presence of directors of concerned departments and fire centers.
The move comes in line with the implementation of DCD'S plans and strategies, updating its fleet and fire and rescue apparatuses, in order to maintain specialized services performance efficiency, and achieving best response standard time worldwide. A number of new early intervention vehicles were equipped with latest and advanced technology at the workshop, rest vehicles to be used in field survey missions.
Col. Almutawaa emphasized that Dubai Civil Defense follows a harmonized policy committed to increase its fleet of vehicles and specialized equipment which ensure our vision to make UAE one of the best countries in Safety and security in the world is achieved, and to maintain Dubai global position as an important economic hub and tourism destination, confirming new added fleet is a big valued added to the sector of fire and rescue, and basic support to the centers to carry out tasks in most appropriate way.
For his part, Col. Suleiman indicated that technical workshop adhered to latest special work standard measurements while equipping the new vehicles with the sophisticated equipment, adding technical workshop always work to ensure vehicles are well equipped to ensure fire fighters performance in fire suppression is enhanced.
Dubai Transport has honored General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defense, during the ceremony to celebrate the new academic year 2019-2020, in recognition of its ongoing support and participation in the events and national occasions which Dubai Transport organizes. Honoring ceremony, includes other strategic partners of Dubai Transport, was under the patronage of H.E. Maj. gen. Eng. Consultant Saif ALzafien, assistant Commander in chief of Dubai Police for Operations affairs.
For his part, Major Ismail AlRais, affirmed that Dubai Civil Defense participates actively in all events and extends its ongoing support to the strategic partners, which was well reflected in enhancing process of mutual cooperation concept to improve all types of services delivered to community sectors.
Col. expert Ali Hassan Almutawaa, assistant director general for fire and rescue affairs, has honored two different persons in recognition of the valued contributions in assisting fighter efforts. Mr. Abdullahmid Abdullah, owner of "Mohammed Iqbal" restaurant located at Business Bay district, for his contribution to assist a fire squad while combating a fire incident erupted in under construction building. Second person honored was student Tarish Buttai Tarish Humiari, studying at DEWA Vocational and Academic Development center, for his valued efforts exerted in the evacuation training drill carried out at DEWA Training Complex in Hudiba area.
Col. Almutawaa confirmed that Dubai Civil Defense reserve no efforts to booster ties with the society sectors to enhance their contribution in fire Safety and protection, and such honoring act depicts Dubai Civil Defense vision and appreciation for the roles of community's members, and to encourage them to interact with surrounding events, in line with the philosophy of bonding community partnership and embedding the idea of understanding.
Dubai Civil Defense has hosted in collaboration with EXPO 2020 Administration and Department of human resources at Dubai Government, a workshop on EXPO 2020, which comes as a part of the efforts raised to introduce the anticipated international event, and its impact on UAE as well as the emirate of Dubai.
Held workshop has focused on the axes of emiratization policy and strategy ,and the other programs derived from emiratization, including trainees, EXPO generation program, previously known as "EXPO Academy " , and second program of Dubai Government employees and their counterparts in other emirates, where more than 400 employees are targeted from different fields and specialties, to ensure UAE sustainable development strategy goals are achieved, where having confident and talented cadres is one of its main features, a national cadre that can play crucial and operational roles to make the expected international landmark event a successful one.
The event was held in the presence of Captain Abdulrahman Ahali, deputy director of Human Resources department and Captain Saif Mohammed Saif director of Hatta fire station.
Mrs. Halima ALKaz, UAE Cadre Polarization Senior Director at EXPO 2020 HR and Volunteers Department, who have delivered the workshop, has confirmed that lots of work has been done in this huge national project, and this workshop reflects Dubai Government strategy set to utilize the national cadre in making EXPO 2020 event success come true, by well preparing and building their skills.
She added, workshop pivotal encompass the strategic goals of emiratization that instill wise leadership vision.
Workshop presenter, Lady Halimah ALKaz, was honored by Dubai Civil Defense in recognition of her valued efforts to make the event a successful event.
Dubai Civil Defense organized in the presence of Col. expert Ali Hassan Almutawaa, assistant director of Dubai Civil Defense for fire and rescue affairs, in association with ABELA & Partners Company, Del Monte and Dr. Nutrition, an initiative themed "Your Diet Shapes Your Health ", which targets particularly the firefighters and other employees in general. The event was held at Nadalshiba fire center, and includes awareness lecture on the concept of proper health habits, correct diet rules, and basic diet components that including protein and carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and water, he concentrates on taking proper diet system and do sport exercises. It encompasses also, work shop on the benefits of fruits consumption.
Col.Ali affirmed that the initiative focused on its first day on firefighters at Nadalshiba, Rashydia and Quoz fire centers, and will be continued to cover the other stations in line with our dedication to sustain their healthy lives, and improving lifestyle to raise age average rates, adding healthy food culture became part of indicators to measure the nation's progress and development.
Among attendance were Lt. Col. Expert Rashid Hussein Alsumaiti, Qouz fire station director, Major Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Saleh, director of Nadalshiba fire center and Lady Zina Hashim Head of Public Health.
Col. expert Ali Hassan Almutawaa, assistant director of Dubai Civil Defense for Fire and Rescue affairs chaired a joint meeting between Dubai Civil Defense and EXPO2020, which held in line with joint cooperation regarding ongoing preparations and plans to host EXPO 2020, focusing on mapping the preventive programs including emergency evacuation plans, seeking implementing the latest technologies to ensure the success of the events associated with the international iconic event to be hosted by Dubai .
Col. Ali emphasized that both parties have been working closely and continuously to discuss ways to make the upcoming event a successful one, based DCD'S main role in protecting lives, properties and safeguarding international events hosted by Dubai, which in turn support Dubai Government strategy to make the city the most safest and secured one, and instill the pillars of Safety amongst different sectors of the community, and to raise the efficiency of hotels and vital establishments staff being the first responder to handle any emergency. He confirmed also Dubai Civil Defense readiness to protect all EXPO 2020 events and activities.
Meeting was held in the presence of Lt. Col. Expert Hussein Alrahoumi, director of fire stations department, Captain Khalid Altinaiji, acting director of preventive Safety department, Captain Ali Mohammed Alfalasi, deputy director of fire stations department, Captain Ashraf Sharkas and Eng. Ismail Alzarouni director of C38 Garden Project EXPO2020 and Eng. Ali Halifi project design director.
In the presence of acting Director General of Dubai Civil Defence, Brig. Jamal Bin Aadid AlMheiri Dubai Civil Defense celebrated the closing ceremony for student summer training program 2019, held at Emirates Academy for Civil Defense, a program which was started in July 14, aims to train , qualify and provide higher schools and universities students with the necessary skills and experiences required to meet employment market needs in the future, such program comes under the professional and institutional frame embodied in DCD strategy 2021, compliant to Dubai Government strategic plan .
Among other attendees of the event hosted at Habtour Polo Resort were Director of Human Resources department, Major Ismail AlRaisi, Capt. Omar Hamid Almarri, training department acting director besides training cadre, training course supervisory team as well as the participants.

DCD’s annual student summer training program focuses in providing the students with practical training opportunities by allocating them across different departments relevant to their study field, advising and guiding them on which topics to focus more to have the right career begin and support their future choices.

DCD’s First Responder Support Program Closing Ceremony
Summer training students are a real added value to “first responder “ scheme at times of fire emergency and before the arrival of fire teams at incident scene, which will lead as a result of their fast and effective responding to mitigate the losses, in line with Dubai Civil Defence plan to involve community members as its strategic partners in protecting public safety, training students on how to handle fires incidents using manual fire extinguishers, contributing in proper evacuations procedures, plus awareness lectures students expected to communicate to their community as part of society total awareness drive.
Entertainment and Recreation Tours
DCD has organized a number of scientific and entertainment trips for the trainees to various amusement destinations, such as “I.M.G World of Adventures” and “Jambil Center”, which combine between entertainment and knowledge gaining of best applicable fire systems, applications and practical evacuations drills applications. Organized trips seek to help the students to recover their energy and enthusiasm to carry out assigned tasks during training period.
DCD Constitutes Off – Classroom Skills Development Platform
Brig. Jamal Bin Aadid , Dubai Civil Defense acting Director General emphasized during the students honoring ceremony, at the closing event , that summer training program is deemed a successful one, urging students who represent the nation’s future to continue pursue to acquire their studies.
He added, DCD dedicated to provide, as part of its futuristic strategy plan to contribute in community services drive, an appropriate training platform for students during summer every year to develop their skills off class rooms, using professional field training principals and standards.
Fire Stations Dept. Conducts Analytical Workshop at EACD
Department of Fire Stations has conducted a three days long workshop chaired by department director Lt. Col. Expert Hussain Mohammed Alrahoomi, and in the presence of Captain Ali AlFalasi, deputy director, which targets shits leaders in all Civil Defense fire stations across Dubai. Held workshop set to discuss analytical studies of medium and major fire incidents, and outline applied learned lessons.
Expert Alrahoomi stated in the conclusion that, this workshop includes the best practices of medium and major fire incidents management applications, in addition to the preparation of specialized field studies on homes fires, causes and their repercussions.
Equipping Firefighters with Personal Alarm Devices
He indicated also, an initiative which was raised during the workshop that suggest equipping fire men with latest personal alarm, to locate their position, in case if anyone is missing, will be implemented immediately after Eid Holidays.
Employee’s Happiness Initiatives
Alrahoomi talked also about studying a number of initiatives related to boost firemen happiness effort, ways of cooperation with other departments and sections to implement. The workshop included also performing opinion poll for shits leaders, who have attended, to evaluate the efficiency of the equipment and apparatuses used in suppression and rescue operations. Participants have demonstrated series of operating procedures to be implemented in accordance to fire stations department strategic plan.
Ongoing Changes for Better Future
Lt. Col Expert Hussain explained that this workshop is a good platform for shits leader to meet and explore ways of changes for better achievements, and listen to and review ideas, suggestions, remarks and initiatives to select which is appropriate to be implemented according to available capabilities.
Dubai Civil Defence organized in association with Department of Islamic affairs and Charitable Work, awareness lecture and practical training for Dubai Government Pilgrims official mission, as part of DCD's strategic annual plan, to train Pilgrims on how to handle emergency cases, and helping them to perform their pilgrim rites easily, and communicating with KSA concerned authorities, spreading preventive culture across society members as well to ensure best practices are implemented in fire Safety field.
Civil Protection Department focused on clarifying requirements and advises to be followed by Pilgrims to avoid different types of incidents, to preserve public Safety, preforming religious rituals without any hindrances, implementing safe evacuation at times of emergency, and practical training on how to use manual fire extinguishers.
For his part, Captain Zayed Abdouly, deputy director of Dubai Parks fire station while delivering the lectures to identify the public risks and causes of fires, necessity if avoiding flames inside tents except in the specified areas, adhere to tents entry and exit procedures, he raised examples of incidents that have happened last year to review learned lessons and to avoid recurrence for ensuring the safety of Pilgrims.
Captain Hamdan Suwaidi, deputy director of Civil Protection department emphasized that Dubai Civil Defence regularly conducts such awareness campaigns in cooperation with strategic partners, through which our capabilities employed to serve holy places pilgrims who are trained on theories of ignition and suspension, urging them to comply with Saudi Civil Defence requirements applied in UAE Pilgrims camps
As a part of its events to mark Yoga International Day, Department of Dubai Civil Defense has organized sport program for women elements working for the department, event was held at Max and eagle Center. International Yoga Day Celebration aims to cast light on the benefits of practicing yoga, a game that mixes between both traditional yoga techniques and sports exercises, based on physical and mechanical training movements principles, integrated with certain positions include parniama, pandihaz, crias and meditation.
Training atmosphere was featured with enthusiasm and willingness to execute instructions given by the trainer Jamila Ansari, head of Women team at Ministry of Infrastructure.
Civil Protection Department Deputy Director Captain Hamdan Alsewaidi and Captain Fahad Bukhashem have received Heart Resuscitation Apparatus donated by Dubai Corporation for Ambulance services and delivered by Mr. Meshaal Abdul Karim Jalfar, Head of Medical Dispatch at DCFAS, as a part of the " Madinati Tusafani " initiative events, which seeks to improve Dubai Government entities employees, in the field of First aid, in order to achieve the strategic goal of implementing the best international practices in pre hospital primary care emergencies , which contributes to Emirates vision 2021 and Dubai strategic plan 2021.
Before the apparatus was delivered, a coordinating meeting was held encompass concerned DCD'S departments and DCFAS'S First Aid department, where issues discussed include joint cooperation and ways of communication to install donated device as per schedule agreed.
Lt.Col.Expert Abdulrahman Balshalat, Director of Smart Systems at Dubai Civil Defense has visited Abdullah Saeed family, who used "Hasnutuk program" to send the first incident call, a program which was launched by HH Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed AlNahyan, deputy prime minister and minister of Interior, for homes Safety including innovate and sophisticated inhouse alarms systems. Hasuntuk scheme seeks to foster fire alarms and emergency systems in UAE through implementing AI based smart systems, and is one of the initiatives launched by UAE Government as a part of plans set to enhance fire and safety in Civil Defense sector .
Balshalat visit comes as a part of the initiative themed " You Deserve Safety " launched by Dubai Civil Defense in line with its efforts to enhance community partnership between Dubai Civil Defense and different sectors of the society, and bringing families in emirate of Dubai more closer, diversifying Safety means and protecting families against fire risks, encouraging the society members to respond quickly to the various initiatives launched by Civil Defense and the government.
Brig.Rashid Khalifa Albufalsa,acting director of Dubai Civil Defense has confirmed that Deserve Safety initiative instill wise leadership vision through Hasnutuk program, and at the same time encouraging citizens and residents to connect their homes to the program to reap the fruitful results the program has achieved. Visiting Abdullah's family symbolizes such positive results, that allows the family avoiding fire incident.
For his part,Lt.Col.Expert Balshalat indicated that "Hasuntuk scheme " has contributed widely in enhancing lives and properties protection, we here today with a family who have benefited indeed from the launched program, as smoke started to rise in the house, Civil Defense operations room received a report from Hasuntuk operations, then the owner of the house was notified, fire squads immediately rushed from Rashydia fire station to fire scene in Warrqa 2 area, to discover smoke was orginated from car battery charger, where it was controlled by the owner of the house, in the presence of fire team.He added, Hasuntuk program helped to get community members prepared as first responder to handle fire incidents to curb negative aftermath.
Deputy director of Government Communications department, Lady Huwaida Saeed Bin Touq, indicated that the initiative lies under the directives of H.E Maj.gen.expert Rashid Thani Almatrooshi,director general of Dubai Civil Defense, aiming to communicate with the families in emirate of Dubai, in order to spreading awareness and preventive culture to ensure protection of lives and properties.
