Sheikh Saif Al Qasimi, Director of Fire & Safety Authority Sharjah, reviewed the “Early Intervention Unit” a fire vehicle launched by Dubai Civil Defense Department, at its Stand in INTERSEC 2020, in its 22th edition, during visiting the Stand, accompanied by Col. Sami Khamis Al Naqabi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defense GHQ. Visiting delegation was received by Col. Suleiman Abdulkarim AlBloushi, Director of Technical Affairs Department, who have fully illustrated them about vehicle specifications and ability to combat fires in hilly areas, desert, tunnels, and beaches. He also explained the Dubai Civil Defense efforts to ensure fire and rescue sector development sustainability.

 During the “ fire protection” conference, which was held on the sideline of INTERSECT 2020 exhibition activities, Eng. Salma Hamid Saeed, head of Drawings section at Dubai Civil Defense GHQ, has presented a working paper branded “Safety & Security Precautions at EXPO 2020”.

 In which, She focuses on the importance of EXPO 2020 at the international and Middle east levels, and the role it plays in current and future aspects, in virtue of wise leadership directives, which extends its support limitlessly and framing policies that bring UAE in forefront of International indicators.

It also addresses Dubai Civil Defense efforts as the main support of the EXPO 2020 initial stages, including studying initial drawings, reviewing safety issues details, providing consultations and required support for obtaining final approval.

Salma also indicated that DCD is committed under the leadership of Excellency Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Al Matrooshi, implement in cooperation with its strategic partners, all capabilities, abilities and accumulated experiences needed to make such global event a successful one, and substantially contribute to converting the dream into a reality. 

She added, DCD has adopted the latest international safety standards to execute EXPO 2020 temporary and permanent projects, which will ensure the highest safety and security levels, considering the movement of fire engines and apparatuses, to achieve the best response time, estimated at 4 minutes, during emergencies.

Eng. Salma has demonstrated through the interactive show, the flexibility of apparatuses movement from DCD’s fire stations based in the EXPO 2020 site, support and back up team’s access, and confirming designs are flexible to accommodate any changes.

According to Salma, DCD’s engineer’s staff have exerted huge effort, during weekly meetings with EXPO 2020 concerned staff and participating countries pavilions officials, to complete approval works. Project implementation phase began in the last quarter of 2016, including designs, infrastructure works, and fire-fighting networks systems, she concluded.

Excellency Maj. Gen. Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al Marzougi, Civil Defense Commander in Chief, visited the Dubai Civil Defense pavilion, at INTERSEC exhibition 2020, in its 22nd edition, which was inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. 

Commander in Chief Al Marzouqi, was received by Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense Department. 

During his visit, Al Marzouqi has reviewed the new fire and rescue vehicle, known as “Early Intervention Unit”, launched by DCD at INTERSEC 2020, adding real value to DCD’S area of specialty work, and ensuring its developmental operations, carried out as per efficient and high-quality practical methodologies.

In the same context, Al Matrooshi received also Brig. Mohammed Abdullah Al Zaabi, Director of Ras Al Khaimah Civil Defense, Mr. Abdullrahman Obeid Abu Shawarib, Senior head deputy of Protocol & Security at Dubai International Trade Center, as well as a number of participating companies’  representatives, to review the best practices applied by Dubai Civil Defense, and their role in developing fire and rescue vehicles and apparatuses,  based on its adopted methodology which relies on accelerators and artificial intelligence, as per wise leadership directives for reshaping the future.

Excellency Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani Rashid Al Mtrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, has inaugurated INTERSEC Exhibition 2020, in its 22nd edition, most prominent fire safety and protection commercial exhibition, worldwide, organized by Messy Company Frankfort, at Dubai International Trade Center.

The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Maj. Gen. Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of General Department of Facilities Security and Emergency, at Dubai Police GHQ, head of Events Security Committee, Brig. Abdulaziz Ali Al Shamsi, Director General of Ajman Civil Defense,  Excellency Khalifah Bin Drai,  Executive Director of  Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, Excellency Khalifah Ibrahim Al Slis, Executive Director of Security Industry Regulatory Agency and Mr. Mohammed Mubarak  Al-Mutawa, Executive Director of Corporate Support Sector at Dubai Municipality.    

During his field tour at the exhibition, Al Matrooshi reviewed the latest security and safety solutions, building and commercial establishment’s security technologies, information security, and unmanned drone.

Cutting- edge technologies solutions set to respond to future risks and threats of smart cities, as well as Latest artificial intelligence technologies used in fire & rescue field were reviewed by him also.

He praised the major role played by Government entities, regional and global companies participating in the exhibition, and their contributions in the development of safety and security industries, safety operations enhancing industries, by the virtue of wise leadership’s care and directives which gives human safety and security its top priority, and considering it an strategic goals in such a way that prosperity, sustainable development, and life wellness is achieved.  

Al Matrooshi confirmed that INTERSEC is one of the successful specialized event worldwide, which is annually committed to keeping path with latest technologies and innovations that increase efficiency of the delivered services, exhibition also represents a prominent security and safety products industries market, every year we prove constantly our limitless support to development and sustainability at global level.

 He also addresses with H.E. Mr. Raja Rabia, Consul General of France in Dubai and Northern Emirates, companies officials, corporates representatives and exhibitor’s ways of cooperation, for enhancing the development of fire protection operations and industries, utilizing latest technologies and encouraging innovation and creativity to ensure best-specialized services are delivered to protect lives and properties.

Brig. Rashid Khalifah Al Bu Falasah, assist. Director-General for Smart Services chaired the meeting, comprises two departments namely Information Technology and Human Resources, to count paper transactions and covert into smart applications to serve all employees, as part of Dubai Civil Defense strategic plan to become a paperless department, in line with Dubai Government plans and strategies of paperless transactions by 2021.

Al Falasi emphasized that the main outcome of this meeting was setting March 1st, as a date for launching a package of smart customers transaction, after reviewing applications ready for use.

The move comes as part of DCD’s proactive steps for total smart conversion of its services, before the date proposed by Dubai Government for implementing paperless transactions in 2921.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Eisa Bin Shalaat, Director of the IT Department, MS Nora Ahmed Al Matrooshi, Director of Human Resources Department, sections head of other concerned individuals in other departments.

Brig. Jamal Bin Aadid AL Muheiri,  assistant Director General for Resources and Support services, has presided the routine meeting of different departments affiliated to resources and support services sector, in which approved 2020 strategic plan was discussed and how to be implemented in a way that achievement of the strategic goals of Directorate General is ensured. Department’s work and preparations to participate in Dubai Government Excellence Program 2020, and maintenance contracts revision, to ensure DCD’s facilities sustainability were among other issues discussed in the convened meeting. Meeting also, focused on the importance of employee’s encouragement policy, which department’s directors must continuously implement among all employees, in order to contribute effectively in raising the efficiency and effectiveness of collective work performance and fostering the spirit teamwork in different departments. Meeting was attended by Col. Jamal Ahmed Ibrahim, director of services and supplies department, Col. Jumaa Mubarak AL Basatah, director of Emirates Academy for Civil Defense, Major Dr. Abdullrahman Mohammad AlBloushi, acting director of financial affairs department and MS Nora AL Matrooshi, director of HR department.

Strategy and the Future Dept. organized a workshop for the "Suggestions and Complaints Systems" team, during which Mrs. Maryam bin Ghalaita, Head of Innovation Department, reviewed the federal and local Suggestions systems and their role in providing the best initiatives for implementing 2020 plan and studying the challenges facing the new team and how to address and turn them into opportunities. She also explained the indicators for Suggestions coordinators.

This comes as a result of Dubai Civil Defense commitment to support innovative ideas, provide the best services to employees and customers and achieve sustainable performance development that enhance performance quality and efficiency of "Suggestions and Complaints Systems" team, in order to achieve the customer’s satisfaction, exceed their expectations and improve the quality of services.

Strategy and Future Department held the first meeting of the "Civil Defense Model for Key Operations", which was chaired by Mrs. Afaf Jassim ALMuheiri , the Director of Strategy & Future Department, to review the analysis of the key operations of the departments of DCD, the link between each process and the other, and its direct impact on achieving the goals and vision in protecting lives and property.

H.E. Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, participated in the activities of "Al Nahda Cultural Heritage" festival organized by Dubai Women's Association – Al Lisaili, in its 11th edition.

Department of Civil Protection “Awareness Section” participated in the event. In the presence of Mrs. Alyazia Khalifa Al Sabousi, Director of Al Nahda Women's Association - Al Lisaili Branch, Mr. Rashid Khalifa Al Sabousi, General Supervisor of the Heritage Village at Al Nahda Cultural Heritage festival, Mr. Mohammad Al Muhairi, event’s organizer and general coordinator of the 5th Perfumes Show, and the poet Thani Balhilli.

The festival is one of the most prominent events that reflect the noble heritage of UAE, as it enhances the concept of authenticity among all members of the society through the accompanying activities, and motivates future generations to get to know the UAE heritage and cultural values.

Dubai Civil Defense participation was effective through the workshops organized by the Department of Civil protection “Awareness Section” and Al Lisaili fire station. The event aimed at spreading awareness of fire hazards and establishing it as a community culture for all members of the society to contribute in enhancing prevention, protection and safety. The festival also included draw and paint corner and Salem Firefighter show.

H.E. Al Matrooshi visited the pavilions of the heritage exhibition accompanying the festival’s activities, handicrafts, traditional dishes and arabic coffee corners. He also attended traditional artistic and theatrical performances and games that embodied the lives of the ancestors and the first generation, and expressed the Emirati society in the past decades.

H.E. Al Matrooshi praised the efforts of Dubai Women's Association – Al Lisaili and their keenness to hold a cultural heritage festival, as it is a major support for the strategy of safeguarding UAE’s values and culture, stressing that the participation of Dubai Civil Defense in these activities is consistent with the directions of the wise Leadership of preserving our cultural heritage, in a way that enhances our Arab and National identity, and to highlight the spirit of UAE heritage and authentic customs.

Al Nahda Women's Association honored H.E. Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi,

in appreciation of his societal role and civil defense contributions in spreading awareness and protecting lives and property.

Brigadier Rashid Khalifa Al Falasi, Assistant Director General for Smart Services, chaired the periodic meeting of Smart Services sector departments, where he reviewed the most important recommendations from the previous meeting, the progress of digital transformation implementation plan set for of all Civil Defense services, and the practical steps to transform into a paperless organization in all transactions and operations during the current year, which is part of Dubai government 2021 Plan, to implement Dubai paperless strategy.

Several development initiatives - that are consistent with Smart Dubai strategy- were discussed in the meeting.

The meeting was attended by Lt. Col. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Ali, Acting Director of Smart Systems Department, Mr. Issa Belshalat, Director of Information Technology Department, Captain Ali Salem bin Ghalaita, Head of Communications Section, and Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Ali, Head of Systems Development Section.
