Brig. Expert Ali Hassan Al Mutawa, assist. Director-General for Fire and Rescue, at Dubai Civil Defense GHQ, chaired a meeting today to review the plans set to safeguard Dubai Horse Race World Cup 2020 events and activities. 

Meeting also reviewed, studied technical plans and procedures of safeguarding World Cup activities, based on DCD’s strategy to implement best practices to ensured lives and properties are protected.

Other issues discussed include raising filed reports before, during and after the event, time-framed plan for all procedures related to fire and rescue teams operations, which enhance safety and security procedures.

The meeting was attended by Col. Expert Feras Mohammed Bal Hasa, Commander of Deira Sector, Col. Expert Ahmed Kmeidesh, Commander of Bur Dubai Sector, Col. Expert Rashid Hussein Al Sumaiti, Director of Al Quoz fire station and Major Ali Mohammed Al Diheil, deputy director of Al Quoz fire station.

Department of Dubai Civil Defense has celebrated International Women’s Day, under the patronage of Excellency Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense GHQ. 

Celebration event includes honoring of the women element working in the department, by Government Communication Department, in recognition of their good track of record and long march full of achievements during working at different Civil Defense departments, and their contributions in the effective initiatives and programs, clearly reflected in the achievements seen at GHQ. 

Al Matrooshi stressed that marking such international event stems from our noble vision and mission, to cast light on the important place of women in UAE society, adding wise leadership gives its top priority to women, by allocating number of programs and initiatives to empower them, that paved way for their excellence performance seen in many fields, and carrying out their national role in an appropriate way, and tangible contribution in community development,  which enhance their reputation at local, regional and global levels.

Excellency Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani Rashid Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense has presided the EXPO 2020 Committee meeting, where he reviewed fire station's readiness sustainability in the project, as part of efforts exerted to ensure best-specialized services are delivered in accordance with highest international standards.

Global event onsite accomplished projects also reviewed during the convened meeting.

Meeting discussed also operations rooms fit out plan, connecting mechanism seeking to enhance fire safety and protection procedures, as per best-sophisticated technologies, artificial intelligence applications and smart systems employed by Dubai Civil Defense to assure the success of events and associated activities.

Al Matrooshi also addressed fire and rescue squad’s preparations and readiness, improving their professional skills and capabilities to keep pace with the international prominent event, to be hosted in Dubai soon. 

Meeting also discussed the support plan from other Civil Defense regional departments across UAE, as support and backup units, which help to foster the safety axis at EXPO 2020.

The meeting was attended by Brig. Jamal Bin Aaded, assist. Director-General of Resources and Supportive services, Brig. Rashid Khalifa Al Buflasa, assist. Director-General for Smart Services, Brig. Expert Ali Hassan Al Mutawa, assist. Director-General for fire and rescue affairs and members of the committee.

Excellency Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, has chaired the fire and rescue sector “Competency” initiative meeting, which aims at implementing best practices in the area of specialty, raising response and readiness level during crisis and emergency situations.

Daily training projects working plan, based on DCD’s GHQ strategy and vision, was demonstrated, said the plan is linked to training plans and actual needs of fire and rescue units.

Discussed plan includes updated incidents types and ways to respond to them, training on specialized and technical programs carried out under Emirates Academy for Civil Defense direct supervision, as per latest methods applied, in order to raise readiness indicators at different fire stations across Dubai, to ensure best response time and human force training sustainability are achieved.

The meeting was held in the presence of Brig. Rashid Khalifah, assist. Director-General for Smart Services, Brig. Expert Ali Hassan Al Mutawa, assist. Director-General for fire and rescue, Col. Expert Yusuf Rashid, Director of Fire Stations Department,  Lady Afaf Jassim Al Muheiri, Director of Strategy and Future department and MS Nora Ahmed Al Matrooshi, Director of Human Resources Department.

Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani Rashid Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, reviewed fire and rescue men sports program, launched as part of the “Competency” program set for fire & rescue sector.

The launched program aims to increase fire and rescue men's effective physical activities, and in turn contribute to building their physical capabilities, which will enhance skills in the professional working field, swift decision-taking while facing underway task challenges.

Firefighters training program map includes, endurance drills, push up, sport intelligence skills, weights lifting, and skip barriers, balance and flexibility exercises.

Among attendance were Brig. Rashid Khalifah Al Buflasah, assist. Director-General for Smart Services, Brig. Expert Ali Hassan Al Mutawa, assist. Director-General for fire and rescue, and Col. Expert Yusuf Rashid Al Megazoui, Director of Fire Stations Department.

The Civil Defense GHQ Commemorated under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the event of Civil Defense International Day, which falls on March 1 of every year, under the slogan “ Civil Defense in every Home”, at Culture Center auditorium in Ras Al Khaimah. 

The event was held in the presence of Excellency Maj. Gen. Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Commander in Chief of Civil Defense, Excellency Ma. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani Rashid Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, their excellences Directors Generals and regional Department’s Directors.

Ceremony program includes operetta branded “Civil Defense in every Home”, strategic partners were honored also during the ceremony in recognition of their exemplary efforts and contributions that made a great impact in making different activities and programs organized by Civil Defense enormous achievements. 

Al Matrooshi emphasized that enhancing the awareness about safety concepts, risks protection, and preventive measures in every home is very important in avoiding public risks.

He also indicated, awareness and prevention come first,  as they will have a positive impact in avoiding incidents, based on the fact that individual is always the first responder in-home incident,  before fire and rescue squad arrive in incident scene, resulting in loss and damage limitation.

Al Matrooshi also made a mark, involving everyone within the home is important to ensure fire safety requirements are in place, positive interaction with awareness programs, following DCD’s directives to protect lives and properties, to implement wise leadership to ensure community safety protection, in accordance with cutting - edge international standards.

Under the auspicious and Participation of Hon’abe Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Mistier of Tolerance and Chairperson of UAE for Genetic Diseases has participated with Dubai Civil Defense in “ Rare Diseases Rally”, organized by  “ High Hopes”  Center for Children Therapy and Rehabilitation, at Kite Beach Jumeriah, in commemorating of Rare Diseases International Day 2020.  

Dubai Civil Defense participation in the rally comes to emphasizes its community role in sponsoring and supporting all activities, which achieve happiness and life wellbeing, reflect its solidarity with the families suffer from rare diseases, instilling UAE society humanitarian values and contributing along with other partners in spreading preventative awareness culture. 

The event includes also honoring ceremony of Dubai Civil Defense, in recognition of its efforts in making the event a successful one, honoring shield was delivered to Major Dr. Ahmed Yousuf Al Shengiti, Director of Government Communication Department. 

For his part, Al Shengiti stressed that DCD’s participation is derived from its dedicated commitment towards community responsibilities and contribution to integrating with all social issues, embodied in its strategic plans, launching, adopting and participating in the initiatives which will have a positive impact on community sectors.

 Dubai Civil Defense GHQ hosted a workshop on the “Smart Lost & Found” system, delivered by Major Ahmed Mohammed Bin Fahad, director of “Lost & Found” at Dubai Police.

Delivered workshop includes demonstrating steps followed in reporting and inquiry about “Lost & Found” items, and centralized reporting system, via Lost and Found recognition and archive smart system, which comes in line with the implementation of the law No (5) for the year 2015, pertaining disposing of Lost and abandoned money in emirate of Dubai, issued by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, May ALLAH Preserves Him, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai.

“Smart Lost & Found” system, is considered as a smart system which set to connect public and private entities and other organizations in Dubai to facilitate reporting and inquiry system about items missing.

Brig. Expert Ali Hassan Al Mutawa, assist. Director-General for Fire and Rescue Affairs at Dubai Civil Defense, today received at his office, a delegation from EXPO 2020, led by Mr. Omar Shehab Shehadeh, Senior Vice President, International Participants Operations. 

Two parties discussed ways to facilitate approval and completion procedures of EXPO 2020 projects, assigning a special tasks team from DCD to follow and ensure safety requirements stipulated, are in place in all onsite projects, before commissioning handling them out to participating countries.

Meeting also discussed, setting inspection mechanism, ensuring alarm systems efficiency and make sure to be connected to the EXPO 2020 special operations room, identifying certain mechanisms for approving new materials proposed for use in EXPO 2020.

Approving these new materials, which is imported for the first time to the UAE, is a challenge for the special tasks team.

Major Hamad Khalifah  Al Falasi, acting director of the preventative safety department, sections heads and concerned entities from both parties attended the meeting.
