The tasks of the Fire Stations Affairs Department are based on providing support and attribution, developing the station’s performance, and ensuring the implementation of instructions and tasks by higher management, by providing trained teams in the field of firefighting and rescue, ensuring immediate response to calls related to accidents in the areas of specialization, providing equipment and vehicles, firefighting devices, and all the related technical and logistical services.
The central operations department is entrusted with preparing plans for operations in the emirate, providing locative maps and related information, arranging communication devices, equipping central and subsidiary operating rooms, working on sustaining their development, stating their readiness to receive calls, and securing an immediate response to them, within the jurisdiction and formations of the General Directorate. And directing and following up for all fire and rescue teams and units to ensure the achievement of command and control in the management of fire incidents.
The Technical Affairs Department assures the readiness of vehicles, firefighting boats, specialized vehicles, mechanical machines, and supporting equipment, around the clock, do maintenance and repair, following the best technical systems approved globally, with specific timetables for each vehicle or equipment, in addition to applying the highest international quality standards, in choosing Vehicles, machinery, equipment, and devices for specialized civil defense services.
Department of Marine Fire and rescue tasks focus on executing DCD’S specialized mission in the field of combating marine fire incidents, in coordination with other concerned entities, providing and equipping marine firefighting boats with all the required equipment’s and apparatuses, supervising the process of implementing training plans relevant to marine fire and rescue activities, vessels and dry docks protection.
Monitoring and Inspection Department (MID) undertakes the responsibility of setting and implementing scheduled/non-scheduled auditing and inspection operations to ensure ministry of Interior (MOI), Dubai Government and Dubai Civil Defence work regulating rules and policies are abide by , in accordance to a pattern that contribute to ensure daily activities and operations are smoothly carried out through ongoing surveillance assuring best strategies, which guarantee sustainable development in all DCD’S operations, are implemented.
Government Communication Department (GCD) works tirelessly to keep communication channels between Civil Defence and its valued customers remain always open and transparent, it also undertakes the responsibility to set and implement an integrated strategy for internal and external communication based on the directives of Dubai Government communication Office.
Department explores as well potential areas of media cooperation and partnership with other public and private entities, in a way that support DCD’S polices, programs and its strategic plan, conducting various media activities and organizing events and initiatives, supervising institutional identity implementation, developing and administering the content of website and social media channels in coordination with other departments.
According to DCD’S new organizational structure, Strategy and Future department is assigned to tackle the responsibility of designing strategic planning methodology and to develop special programs and initiatives to enhance main and supportive operations, developing services, manuals and work regulations and procedures.
Department supervises also the process of setting strategic and operational plans, priorities and measurement tools, implementing quality systems, institutional development performance requirements and models, Government excellence and Government services, ensuring their consistency with DCD’S plans and programs in a way that service excellence culture is assured.
