The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai wrapped up its presence at GITEX Africa 2024 in Morocco. They were part of a comprehensive showcase organized by the Dubai Digital Authority, involving 9 government bodies from Dubai. The showcase featured 25 pilot projects focused on digital transformation across various sectors. These projects highlighted the best practices and experiences in governmental operations, showcasing Dubai's standing as a digital city and a top global destination in this realm.

During its debut at the event, Dubai Civil Defense showcased its advancements in artificial intelligence and its application of cutting-edge sciences in security and safety. This included highlighting the Civil Defense Readiness Program and the groundbreaking Eco Readiness Program, a global first housed within the General Directorate of Civil Defense building in Dubai.

This innovative program serves as an extensive database that connects the world's eight largest firefighting organizations across continents. It provides each organization with real-time data on carbon emissions from fires, marking a pioneering initiative aimed at safeguarding air quality by addressing one of its major pollutants from fire emissions.

During GITEX Africa 2024, amid a significant gathering of leaders and experts from top artificial intelligence firms, Major Dr. Issa Ahmed Al Mutawa, Director of the Monitoring and Inspection Department at Dubai Civil Defense, delivered a lecture titled “Artificial Intelligence Excellence: Enhancing Efficiency and Ensuring Civil Defense Readiness and Environmental Preparedness.” He elaborated on the implementation of artificial intelligence in countries, addressing associated needs and challenges. Additionally, he presented and discussed potential strategies to overcome these challenges and stressed the importance of collaborative efforts with various local and international entities.
