Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani AL Matrooshi, has received at DCD’s allocated area at Dubai Air Show Exhibition, a high raking delegation from Dubai Police, comprises Brig. Rashid Bin Drawish, Director of Emergency at General Department of Facilities and Authorities Security and Emergency, Col. Expert Juma Bin Drawish director of Transport and rescue, Col. Expert Ahmed Bourgiba, director of Crisis & Disasters at General Operations department, Lt.Col. Eissa Ahmed Shaheen, director of Passport Control at Maktoum Airport.
Both parties exchange views about cutting- edge technologies and created procedures in aircraft industry; they also, witnessed the air show and its formations, which symbolizes UAE flag in the sky.
Meeting was attended by Col. Expert Ali Hassan AL Mutawaa, assistant director general for fire and rescue affairs, Lt. Col. Expert (Pilot) Hammed Balsawida, director of Barsha fire station, Lt. Col. Abdullrahman AL Ali, acting director of smart systems department, Captain Dr. Ahmed Yusuf Shengiti, acting director of Government Communications department and 1st Lt. Eissa Ahmed AL Mutawaa, deputy director of Monitoring and Inspection Department.
Dubai Civil Defense has celebrated the Tolerance World Day, which falls this year on Year of tolerance 2019, which approved by the wise leadership to celebrate humanity and religious tolerance in its best versions, Department of Government Communication has distributed brochures that encompass the meanings and values of tolerance.
DCD’s celebration of tolerance world day event comes as part of a number of its activities and events carried out throughout this year, which aim to enhance and support the national role in disseminate the tolerance and its values worldwide.
Dubai Civil Defense Department has organized a lecture branded as “Tolerance in Islam” for Non Arabic speaking, at Etihad museum, in cooperation with WATANI ALEMARAT Corporation, to mark Tolerance World day, which is celebrated by different nations on Nov.16 of every year, with the aim to instill tolerance values and culture, respect and fraternity amongst the people, and to quit all hatred, intolerance and discrimination aspects, and to respect culture, traditions and heritages of others.
Convened lecture was delivered by scholar Mohamed Eid ALMuheiri, targets DCD’s employees who do not speak Arabic language.
He focused on casting light on the human values likewise tolerance, forgiveness, etc. which Islamic religion highly appreciates, and seek through its teachings to instill the values of positivity, courtesy, respect of other and finding reasons for their faults.
Scholar ALMuheiri, was honored at the end of the lecture by Lady Huawida Bin Touq, deputy director of Government Communication department, in recognition of his valued lecture delivered.
Dubai Civil Defense has participated in “Clothes for Good” initiative organized by Road & Transport Authority at Global village, as part of its initiatives to mark Tolerance World day, with the aim to enhance and support humanity initiatives seeking to help the needy sectors in poor countries, through volunteers drive to prepare and redistribute the Clothes.
DCD’s participation comes within the general framework of efforts to enhance its plans and strategy, aiming at instilling volunteer spirit across different sects of society, by organizing and participating in community humanitarian initiatives.
Captain Dr. Ahmed Yusuf Shengiti, acting director of Government Communication department emphasized that, DCD work tirelessly to enhance the of volunteer culture, cooperation spirit and draw community solidarity image through different activities carried by volunteers team, which in turn instill the directive of the wise leadership, to reflect the values of solidarity and integration of UAE society, that linked to the nation’s identity, to maintain the achievements accomplished during recent Last decades.
Maj.Gen. Expert Rashid Thani ALMatrooshi, director general of Dubai Civil Defense has honored General Director’s Excellence Award evaluation committees2019, in its first edition, and other work teams who have contributed from strategy, Government communication and I.T. departments on making the event a successful one, in the presence of Lady Afaf Jassim, secretary general of the Award.
ALmatrooshi has praised the valued role of the evaluation committees and different team works, in making the event success, early from its first phase until the round off ceremony, where winners were crowned, confirming their efforts in the Award is a value added to their corporate performance and professional experience.
He expressed, at the same time, his optimism to see same efforts put in the second edition 2020, to reflect more bright image for DCD’s grand events.

Sultan Majid Bin Suleiman head of Polices section.
Dubai Civil Defense Department has reviewed the Best international safety measures and standards implemented at Dubai Mall new shopping center, and highest precautionary measures taken to prevent fire incidents, and protecting lives and properties, which comes in line with integrated coordination between DCD and Dubai Mall, in all of its expansion being one of the largest shopping destinations worldwide.
DCD’s team represents Etihad fire station and led by Captain Fahd Mohammed ALBashri, station‘s deputy director , has reviewed the evacuation set plans, emergency exits and assembly points from the illustrated explanation delivered by Mr. Ahmed Jabber , director of fire safety and emergency response at Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. Also, reviewed the readiness and effectiveness of safety and security procedures applied within the establishment, safety systems efficiency and workers competencies.
Department of Dubai Civil Defense has participated in the campaign organizes every year by Dubai Municipality under the theme “Clean Up the World 2019”, event which was held this year at Khwanij 1 area, aims to enhance the role of society in maintaining environment quality, raising environmental awareness and community responsibility across all members of community, and positive behavior among audience, by minimizing waste and corrective disposal of it.
Lt. Col. AbdullRhamn Mohammed AL Ali, acting director of smart systems, emphasized that Dubai Civil Defense participation reflects its deep responsibility towards community and continuous efforts to preserve environment, by interaction and participation in different events and activities across emirate of Dubai, stressing that environment preservation requires awareness and culture of various sectors, and ongoing raising of sustainable solutions of waste clearance, and encouraging them to volunteer in such drives.
Seasonal Flu Vaccination Campaign that was organized by Dubai Civil Defense for its e employees in the HQ and fire centers, prior to the coming of winter season, in association with Almadallah insurance management company and Health Medication Center, was concluded its last round at Marsa fire station, in the presence of Captain Ameer Abdullwahab Qahtani, deputy fire station director and Lady Zinah Hashim ALhadidi, head of Public Health section.
The event comes as part of DCD’s keenness to protect its employees and raise their awareness about the importance of vaccination, being the most effective method to ward off many of the epidemic diseases, and maintain public health.
Dubai Civil Defence Department has organized Electronic Suggestions System and Federal Innovation Platform training session, at Dubai Desert Palm hotel, for suggestions program coordinators.
Convened training session was delivered by Major Ismail Khori, head of Suggestions section at Ministry of Interior Innovation Center.
The course, includes introduction of innovation platform, which depicts the title of current era in UAE, and how to application is implemented through MOI’s electronic platform in all its stages, from registration, suggestions and innovative ideas submission, using innovation tools, follow up and participation in the Awards and Honoring. Mechanism.
Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani ALmatrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, has attended an event themed “Our Students is Honesty”, organized by Civil Protection Department and held at Alqusais fire station.
Organized event aims to enhance the students’ awareness through different activities and events, and means of protection children need at different schooling stages.
AL Matrooshi reviewed learning visit of Bsma British Nursery, fire mock drill carried out and ways of dealing with it as per real fire incident handling rules. Learning visit program includes also a Lecturer on fire safety tips required for taking proper steps during emergency delivered by Mona Mohammed.
The visit includes also, site tour to all facilities in the center to understand the nature of firefighter’s life and their daily activities, including morning parade, checking vehicles readiness and sport exercises. Students also visited operations room and review how fire reports are received and dealt with by its staff.
Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani ALMatrooshi, Dubai Civil Defense Director General, has attended a session held at HQ building, in which a presentation about Institutional Sustainability was delivered by specialized company, including institutional sustainability, flexibility and crisis management.
Main outlines of institutional sustainability previewed encompass socio-economic sustainability, institution flexibility and its ability to adapt with different circumstances, and at the same time ability to maintain operations efficiency and the quality of services delivered to customers.
Issues including crisis management, study and analysis of pre-crisis reality, characteristics of crisis at the time it occurs and ways of restoring life back to normal were also addressed during the session.
