His Excel. Lt. Gen. Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director-General of the General Department of Dubai Civil Defense, honored the Emirati warrant officer and champion, Amer Abdul Razzaq Howeir, who won first place in the Gals Novice Stock competitions, achieving the only Gold for the UAE, in the second round of the World Championships (Triple Crown) Which took place in Lake Havasu, Arizona, USA, in October 2021, after topping the three stages with 173 points. The honoring came in the presence of Captain Eissa Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Director of the Monitoring and Inspection Department.

His Excel. praised the global achievements that DCD firefighters and rescuers have been achieving in various sports fields, and assured that DCD works to distinguish its human cadres with full support and create an atmosphere for creativity in professional paths and various sports activities in a manner that enhances the indicators of the sustainability of readiness, which enables them to perform Their humanitarian mission to the high end.

 

Worth mentioning that the champion Amer Abdul Razzaq won second place in the World Aqua Bike Championship 2022, which was organized in Thailand on January 12, and preceded her by achieving many achievements during his sporting career, most notably the first place in the GP3 Gals category dedicated to UAE stars, topping the list. The overall ranking with 270 points in the UAE International Aqua Bike Championship 2019, by winning the first place in the Super Stock category in the Sharjah Drag Race 2019, and won the UAE 2020 season championship, which took place over 3 rounds, and was crowned first in the UAE Jet ski Marathon Championship.

At the conclusion of the participation of the General Directorate of Civil Defense in the pioneering Intersec exhibition, His Excel. Brig. Gen. Expert/ Ali Hassan Al Mutawa, Ass. Director-General for Fire and Rescue Affairs, received at the DCD stand, a delegation from the Civil Defense in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, headed by His Excel. Maj. Gen./ Khalid bin Fahd Al Hazaa, Ass. Director-General for Safety Affairs, and Col. Mubarak Attia Al-Qurashi, Director of the Hazardous Materials Department. The meeting discussed the best ways to exchange experiences in the fields of firefighting and rescue. and strengthening joint cooperation.

 The Intersec Exhibition was held over three days at the DWTC. In accordance with (ELS) the Emirates Laboratory Safety, which works in the best international standards, and operational procedures, providing services in the areas of safety and prevention that enhance the leadership of DCD in the specialized fields to achieve its goals in reaching the highest indicators of protection and prevention of potential dangers.  

In the same context, His Excel. also received Col. Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, Director-General of Sharjah Civil Defense, Col. Raed Obaid Al Zaabi, Director-General of Ajman Civil Defense, Col. Omar Ahmed Al Dhaheri, Director of Rescue and Fire Sector at Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, and Col. Dr. Maitha Mohammed Al Darei, Director of the Training Department of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority. His Excel. discussed aspects of mutual cooperation with civil defense departments in the country and the strengthening of coordination to achieve the best safety indicators and enhance procedures for protecting lives and properties.

On the other hand, His Excel. Brig. Gen. Rashid Khalifa Al Falasi, Assistant Director-General for Smart Services, visited, accompanied by Maj. Dr. Ahmed Youssef Al-Shangiti, Director of the Government Communications Department, various platforms for international firefighting companies participating in the (Intersec 2022) exhibition.

 His Excellency was acquainted with the latest tools and solutions in the companies’ platforms, and the specialized services they provide, at the end his excel. praised their participation, which added to the major global event and contributed to its success.

With the continuation of the activities of Intersec 2022 in its 23rd edition, and on its second day, His Excel. Lt. Gen./ Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director-General of the DCD received at the Civil Defense stand, His Excel. Maj. Gen./ Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Commander-in-Chief of Civil Defense, and His Excel. Mr. Mark Goldsack the Director of the Department for International Trade Defense and Security Organization in the United Kingdom, His Excel. provided his honored guests during a tour in the Civil Defense platform, with a full explanation of the participation of DCD in the 23rd edition of the exhibition, which represents a qualitative leap through the Emirates Fire Safety Laboratory, The first of its kind in the Middle East, which is considered as a practical tributary of civil defense in the field of prevention and safety, and a proactive step to support the construction sector to work within requirements and standards, that guarantee safety and high quality in this vital sector in the country.

H. H. was received upon his visit to the DCD platform by Brig. Gen/ Rashid Khalifa Al Falasi, Ass. Director-General for Smart Services, Brig. Expert/ Ali Hassan Al Mutawa, Ass. Director-General for Fire and Rescue Affairs, and Maj. Dr. Ahmed Yousef Al Shangiti, Director of Government Communications Department.

H. H. was briefed on the equipment and tools used by the Emirates Safety Laboratory, which was inaugurated in early January 2022, followed by an explanation of how the laboratory works and the high-quality services provided to customers.

Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, that the ESL is the first of its kind in the Middle East, equipped with the latest technology in this field, and is designed according to the best international specifications and standards, to provide its services In the fields of safety and protection, he also pointed out that the laboratory granted with the best staff with the best competencies and expertise, who supervise all inspections to ensure the quality of materials and products used in construction operations, and their compliance with the standards and requirements in the Emirate of Dubai.

Expert/ Ali Hassan Al-Mutawa pointed in a press statement that the ESL represents a qualitative addition to the steps and procedures followed to protect lives and properties, and contributes to providing smart solutions that take into account access to the highest indicators of protection and prevention of risks, also assured that the laboratory holds an accreditation certificate, which qualifies it to be the official authority in the emirate to obtain a certificate of completion and accreditation of safety products and to ensure that they comply with the specifications and requirements required for safety and prevention in accordance with the highest quality standards for safety and fire prevention methods.

Rashid Khalifah Al Falasi, Assistant Director-General for Smart Services, and Mr. Ali Abdullah Bahlouk, Director of Ishara Communications for Security Solutions, signed at the Fazaa pavilion at Expo 2020. an agreement between DCD and Ishara for implementing (Incident Management System) Company (SAGA).

The agreement stipulates that the company will implement and program the new automated system for reporting and incident management at DCD, also programming smart devices to link the incident management system, and providing consultations related to all system services.

Rashid Khalifah Al Falasi assured that the agreement comes within the comprehensive steps of DCD to launch the (SAGA) project, as an incident management system according to the latest modern technologies, and to enable growth of digital services, along with the best global advanced programs in the field of rescue and firefighting, providing innovative digital services to achieve the vision of the rational leadership.

In preparation for the New Year's Eve celebrations

Dubai Civil Defense conducts an evacuation drill in Burj Khalifa

The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai carried out an evacuation drill in (Burj Khalifa) as part of preparations to secure events, Celebrating New Year's Eve 2022, with the participation of the safety and emergency teams in Emaar Company.

The scenario of the training evacuation Exercise began, with the Civil Defense Operations Room receiving an alert at 10:00 this morning, stating that a fire had broken out on one of the floors in Burj Khalifa, where the sirens sounded, after which the safety officials began evacuating the employees, and Zabeel Civil Defense Station immediately moved The first responder, as the jurisdiction, and Alittihad Civil Defense Station for Support. Upon arrival at 10:04, achieving a response time of (4) minutes, it was found that the accident was a simple fire on the 112th floor of the fireworks launch, and the specialized units began their roles efficiently and professionally, and the accident was controlled within 10 minutes only, according to the scenario decided in advance.

Brigadier Ali Hassan Al Mutawaa, Assistant Director-General for Fire and Rescue Affairs, indicated that the exercise comes within the framework of the strategic plan of the General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defense, to ensure readiness to face accidents, testing alarms, and smart systems in all facilities, and determine the effectiveness of the internal plan and the readiness of emergency teams in public and private facilities, as well as testing the effective implementation of evacuation plans.

He noted that the exercise reflects the effectiveness of the operational plans pursued by Dubai Civil Defense, to sustain its readiness to secure New Year's Eve celebrations, and at the same time praised the preventive measures applied in Burj Khalifah in accordance with international best practices to ensure the highest measures for safety and well-being of visitors to Dubai.

The ceremonies commemorating “Martyr’s Day” included downing the flag at half-mast, from 8:00 to 11:30 in the morning, and standing for a minute of silent prayer from 11:30 to 11:31 in appreciation, reverence for the martyrs of the UAE who sacrificed courageously their lives for the sake of the nation’s elevation. At 11:31, the UAE flag was raised, accompanied by the national anthem.

The celebration was held in the presence of His Excel. Brig. Gen. Rashid Khalifa Al Falasi, Assistant Director-General for Smart Services, His Excel. Brigadier Gen. Expert Ali Hassan Al Mutawaa, Assistant Director-General for Fire and Rescue Affairs, and a group of officers.
