Dubai Civil Defense department has participated in Dubai Pink march, organized by Dubai Health Authority (DHA), involved different age group categories, and stretched along Jumeirah Beach Road, aiming at spreading the awareness against breast cancer and the importance of early screening, to avoid complications and ensure cure.

Dubai Civil Defense was honored by Dubai Health Authority during the event, in recognition of its valued efforts in making October long pink events successful.

Dubai Civil Defense participation comes under its community responsibility and active role in supporting local and international initiatives, and contribution in instilling awareness across society via a number of generalized and specialized axis.

Dubai Civil Defense forms active presence through its month of October long breast cancer awareness campaign pink mobile fire engine which plays a vital role in bolstering cancer conquer awareness drive by visiting various departments.

Excellency Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Almatrooshi, director General of Dubai Civil Defense and H.E. Dr. Hazza Alnuaimi Dubai Government Excellent Program Coordinator General, have honored the winners of Dubai Civil Defense Director General Award, in its first edition.

Honoring ceremony was held at “Grand Hayat” hotel, in presence of Excellency Brig. Mohammed Abdullah Alzaabi, Director General of Ras Al-Khaimah Civil Defence, Excellency Brig. Abdulaziz Ali ALShamsi, Director General of Ajman Civil Defence, Col. Khalid AlMansoory deputy director of Sharjah Civil Defence, and assistants of Dubai Civil Defense Director General and department’s directors.

The national anthem was played in the prelude of the ceremony followed by welcoming speech addressing honor guests, and the VIP’s representing public and privates, then a short documentary film tells about the Award, honoring winners and evaluation committees, then the draw of special trophies for the audience, Award second edition 2020 was announced also.

Best innovative initiative trophy was awarded to DOLPHIN project, while best teamwork trophy was given to Ghost team ( shabah),  Emirates martyrs fire and rescue station was placed first in best fire and rescue station category, Major Khlafan Bin Dismal was  ranked in the first place in  exceptional leader category,  Best deputy director category trophy was awarded to captain Khalid Saeed Tunaiji, Major Ali Hassan was announced as the best station director, captain Abdullah Bin Dismal as best deputy station director, best shift leader category award was conferred on Lt. Mohammed Rashid Bu Alflasah, and best section head category award was given to Captain Fahad Saleh Bukhashum.

Eng. Salma Humid AL Ali was placed in the first place in the category of best employee in engineering field, shared by Eng. Sultan Fahmi. Best technician award was won by Eng. Kashif Mueen, while 1st Sergeant Abdullmuhasin Mohammed Jabari was ranked first in best administrator employee category, best employee in specialty field category was Aisha Ahmed AlBalooshi who placed in the first place, best new recruits category award was conferred on Amina Khalil AL Musharrakh. Tops winners other categories in honored include golden firefighters, best awareness lecturer, best telephone operator, best innovative employee and best shift in charge. 

Almatrooshi confirmed in his delivered speech that Award aim is to provide to employees with highest level of happiness, by honoring, inducing and remunerating excellent employees, instilling innovation culture, creating innovate based working environment, which encouraging innovation, raising institutional loyalty level, stressing award will have positive impact on customers happiness and the way they are served, it contributes in raising overall performance level, encouraging improvement in all services and upgrading administrative and professional practices.

For his part Dr. Alnuaimi, general coordinator of Dubai Government Excellence Award, praised Dubai Civil Defense Director General Award, which he considered as vital step to pave DCD’s way for excellence achievement, encouraging employees within the framework of competitiveness and functional innovation, and also lauded efforts exerted to make the event produces in such glorified style, wishing all first edition unlucky candidates a good luck in the next editions.

Lady Afaf Jassim, Award Secretary General, referred to the big competitiveness positivity among DCD’s employees as essential indicator of development sustainability, and steps forward to reach international leadership, and at the same time appreciation for the valued efforts exerted by employees leading us to achieve international leadership.

She confirmed, award will contribute in achieving main goals, spreading concepts of  innovations and creativity, circulating administrative and professional best practices, assures implementation of most effective and efficient work methods in public sector, encouraging employees at  different levels to innovation, excellence, job-commitment, self-development and better customers services assurance.

She added, Award and nomination levels are good opportunities to improve internal/external operations and widening international leadership horizons.

Assistant General Director for Resources and Support services Brig. Jamal Bin Aadid AlMheiri, has attended a session held to review institutional maturity plan results 2019 of finance department, during which a full review of main performance measurement indicators and its role in achieving DCD’S HQ main goals was presented by Lady Afaf Jassim AlMheiri, director of Polices and decision support department.

She addressed also,  department of finance’s  new developmental initiatives which contribute in achieving more progress, mention the importance of raising ideas and concepts which entails futuristic vision, that ensures HR progress and development sustainability.

Plan results 2019 sessions continued to include department of preventive safety department, in the presence of officers and section heads.

Lady Hagar Abdullah AlFalasi, strategic planning chief analyst and Eng. Sahad ALMasri Hassan, have previewed operational  plan , record HQ initiatives 2018 – 2019 , aiming at creating changes , developments and adopting suggestions and considering implementation, as per the best and highest global standards.

Brig. Rashid Khalifa ALBuflasah, assistant director general for smart services at Dubai Civil Defense, and Col. Expert Ali Hassan Almutawaa, assistant director general for fire and rescue, have reviewed ways of cooperation with Watanna Alimarat Foundation upon receiving Mr. Ahmed Saif Bin Hanzal, director of supportive services at the foundation, and his accompanied delegation. Meeting was held as part of “Flag protectors” initiative organized by DCD’s Government Communication department and Watanna Alimarat Foundation, to boost the national identity and spread home land flag culture.

Both parties, discussed UAE national flag protocol, ways of how to use it in all national events, ongoing coordination in different joint events and activities to ensure its success, also assured the delivery of its message and meaning is instilled, the concept of citizenship as adopted culture, concerning everyone who lives in UAE, and how to enhance the joint cooperation in various volunteering areas, which its pillars were laid by the wise leadership.

Bu ALflasah emphasized that convened meeting expressed the dedication of both entities to serve the nation and raise national spirit of employees, confirming Dubai civil Defense gives national events a top priority in its annual agenda, and wide involvement with local and expatriates, which in turn enhances awareness of national events, including National and Flag days.

For his part Col. Ali indicated that, meeting discussed also the axis of citizenship, which is crystalized in UAE, by enhancing its spirit amongst both locals and expatriates equally, due to the virtue of the directives of the wise leadership, also previewed ways of joint cooperation in all areas of volunteering work, activation of community initiatives.He stressed Dubai Civil Defense is dedicated to tackle its community role and fostering partnership with all other  entities via department of Government communication, to entrench community and humanitarian values.Watanna Alimarat Foundation was honored by Brig. Rashid and awarded DCD shield in recognition of its sincere efforts to link different community sectors with national events.Meeting was attended by Captain Dr. Ahmed Yusuf ALshangeeti, acting director of Government Communication department, Lady Huwaida Bin Touq, deputy director of Government communication department and sections heads.

Department of Dubai Civil Defense and Sanid Volunteering program discussed as part of “Emergency Cases Response” scheme ways to activate the role of volunteers and how to employ their capabilities in supporting Civil Defense personnel during incidents, emergencies and evacuation drills.

Other issues discussed also include, participation in annual events and activities, such New Year eve event, initiatives and campaigns, awareness lectures organize by Civil Protection department, and the formation of EXPO 2020 volunteers team.

Meeting was convened at ALmizher fire and rescue center, and attended by Maj. Mohammed Abdulrahman AL Saleh, director of Support and Backup center, Captain Hamadan Hamad Suwaidi, deputy director of Civil Protection department, and Mr. Masoud ALHousani, director of Sanid program and concerned persons from both entities.

Dubai Civil Defense targets within its awareness drive recently launched to train and educate 3000 of school bus drivers and monitors by the end of Jan.2020, by conducting two campaigns each week, as part of Our Sons Our Wealth drive 2019 -2020, launched with Dubai Taxi Corporation at Mizher fire station.

Launched campaign comes within the frame work of Dubai Civil Defense strategy aiming at spreading awareness throughout the year, enhancing public safety procedures and instilling the culture of protection across community members, and guiding them to comply with public safety measures set by Dubai Civil Defense to ensure their safety from fire risks.

Theoretical lectures delivered by Mr. Abdullah Hamza and Yasser Abdullatif in its Day One targeted “53” drivers and monitors, focused on types of fires, roles drivers and monitors expected to play during emergencies, how to initially deal  with school buses fire incidents, safe evacuation procedures. Whilst practical training was performed by trainer Abdullatif Mal Allah, who focused on teaching how to use fire suppression apparatuses  to enabling them acquiring the required skills, to ensure live and properties protection.

Captain Hamdan ALSewaidi, deputy director of Civil protection department, reiterated that Dubai civil Defense work tirelessly to foster safety and protection efforts, by spreading preventive awareness among society members, renew initiatives and create number of awareness initiatives, among which comes Our Sons Our Wealth, which was launched in 2017-2018, and about 1500 school buses drivers and monitors were trained, and was crowned by achieving all the set goals.

He confirmed, such awareness campaigns will continue at different axis to entrench our vision, UAE to be become one of the safest cities worldwide.

Dubai Civil Defense HQ hosted the first workshop held to assess Dubai Excellence Program 2020 and chaired by H. E. Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani Almatrooshi, which represents the new institutional identity of the program, set to raise challenges ceiling for all governments entities.

Almatrooshi emphasized that Dubai Civil Defense goal is to reach Government performance excellence program’s elites level, adding an integrated plan was set to start the process of updating and developing all the systems, programs and the complete editing, and establishing practical methods to keep abreast with all updates, of the program, to ensure efficient response, excellent and pioneering corporate performance are achieved.

As from next week a series of workshops will begin involving work teams to implement the outcomes of assessment guideline 2020, which will enable us to achieve our set goal.

He indicated, each sector’s director in Dubai Civil Defense will directly be responsible to follow standards implementation process in his respective sector, and to form specialized work teams, as per the guideline and approved criteria, and such guideline should be distributed to all employees.

Whilst, Lady Afaf Jassim, director of Polices and decision support, has previewed guideline assessment main updating points, as part of efforts to improve the institutional performance at different DCD’s levels, set to reach international leadership, and ensuring ongoing improvement and development operations sustainability. She also, demonstrated program main categories, involving “ Basic level”, “ Excellent level” and “ Elite level”, method how evaluation points of each category is calculated, rules of shifting from one level to another, she addressed also, the titles and weights of Dubai Government Excellence program system standards, and enclosed amendments, for example smart government standard, to match Dubai Government trend and strategies towards digital transformation, and increasing accelerators axis’s  allocated weight to become 25% instead of 20%, by lifting 5% from innovative axis to be distributed among accelerators axis standards, and do some  changes to axis’s standards, also adding Emiratization as sub-standard to human resources standard, and change standard title to include Emiratization, to match wise leadership trends towards Emiratization drive, and encourage government entities to double efforts to achieve goals anticipated in this regards, another change done also is splitting the sub-standard “ Finance Department” to become main standard titled “ Financial resources department” in order to foster government entities’ concern about financial efficiency, the process include also changing the standard title  of “ resources and assets department”  to “ Department of financial resources” to include “ assets planning and management” and “ Suppliers relationship management”.

Percentage differences of standards indicators of previous / current weights as per accelerators axis was also explained.

Sharifa Hamad ALMazmi, head of excellence and competitiveness, focused on explaining Dubai Government Excellence program main axis’s with full details, including Dubai Plan2021 standard, main tasks, government services, and digital government, in a bid to achieve Dubai Government goals, visions and strategy, as well as achieving happiness, positivity and society good life quality.

She stressed, such updates aiming at improving institutional performance, adopting ideas and initiatives that keep pace with future needs and ensures better life quality for different community sectors, confirming that work during upcoming period need to double the efforts to reach a level which Dubai Government program aspires to achieve.

ALMazmi emphasized that Dubai Government Excellence program 2020 new phase, carries different methodology, which based on creativeness and innovative motivation, to raise institutional performance level and achieve results and positive impact, for all DCD’s operations across sections and departments, specially our chances to escalate to  Elite level are very great.

Expert Ali Hassan Almutawaa, assistant director for fire and rescue affairs, Col. Suliman AlBalooshi director of technical affairs department and department’s directors.

Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani Almatrooshi, director general of Dubai Civil Defense has received in the presence of Col. Expert Ali Hassan Almutawaa, assistant director for fire and rescue affairs, Mr. Simon Miller, the new appointed Executive Director of Massy Frankfort Company - Middle East, which organizes INTERSEC exhibition and Mr. Ali Ayoub, director of INTERSEC exhibition.

This comes in line with the coordination efforts for the 22th edition of INTERSEC, scheduled on Jan.2020, at Dubai International Trade Center, with the participation of major international companies from across the globe to display latest technologies and solutions in fire safety and security.

Worth to mention is that, Dubai Civil Defense is considered main partner in INTERSEC exhibition, since its first edition and safety’s main sponsor.

Dubai Civil Defense contributes in raising innovative solutions in fire and safety field, in all editions organized earlier, which has increased its services efficiency and effectiveness  in the different fire and rescue operations, to become among fire and rescue apparatuses across the world.
