DCD, Thumbay Hospital Organize "Your Safety Is our Concern " Intiative
Dubai Civil Defense has organized in association with Thumbay hospital an initiative titled "Your Safety is our Concern ", seeking to educate labour at the technical workshop, and which aims to enhance public health and raising health awareness about blood pressure and diebaties diseases
Public Health Section at Dubai Civil Defense is dedicated to enhance health awareness across all working categories, organizing early detection campaigns , risks factors and ways of prevention to make sure they maintain good health conditions and Safety during performing of assigned tasks
Civil Defense Youth Council Praises Leadership Role
In its routine meeting Civil Defense GHQ Youth Council has praised the role of wise leadership towards Youth, UAE future, also highly hailed the meeting of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed,AbuDhabi Crown Prince and deputy supreme Commander in chief of armed forces with the youth during his official visit to China,and listening to their opinions, aspirations, ideas and personal expectations.
Routine meeting was held at Dubai Civil Defense GHQ building, and attended by council members from other regional departments, they discussed the initiative which was implemented in first quarter of 2019,and camparing it with council operating plan and the role of Youth Councils should play to ensure main objectives are properly implemented. The Council discussed also Youth Day event celebration, to take place in 10/8/19.
The Council Express its thanks to Civil Defense Youth Council for its contribution in making joint initiatives successful, and its valued role in organizing special initiatives
DCD Conducts Readiness Measurement Drill at Holiday Inn Hotel
Dubai Civil Defense has carried out a strategic drill to measure its readiness, at Holiday Inn Express in Internet City, in association with strategic partners in Dubai Police GHQ, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management, DEWA, RTA, Dubai Municipality and Red Crescent Authority in addition to Holiday Inn Express Hotel. Drill was performed in the presence of Lt.Col Abdullah Alhurr AlSewaidi from Federal Central operations department at Ministry of Interior and assistant officers.
This drill comes under the federal applications plan to respond to hotels emergency situations plan, and in line with GHQ strategic plan to ensure standby and readiness measurement in handling incidents and enhancing successful partnership with other strategic partners, and achieving best response rates.
Scenario began when central operations room was notified by hotel security officer at 10:00 am that a fire has erupted in the fifth floor, despatched fire squad from Almarsa fire station arrived to the fire scene at 10:05 am, forces arrived which include mobile operations units,early intervention and support vehicles immediately began dealing with the situation by raising initial assessment report to incident Commander,allocating response teams as per the Scenario approved in dealing with hotels incidents, support was requested from Albarasha fire station, which led to control the fire in a record time.
According to Lt.Col pilot Hamad Balswaida, director of ALbarasha fire center statement, operations room received call reporting a fire in Holiday Inn hotel Express, and based on the drill set Scenario, initially 3 victims were evacuated, two had medium injuries while the third victim was seriously injured and all were transferred to ambulance patrol for treatment, then suppression operations began and fire was battled in a record time.
Head of Crisis and Disasters Section, Captain Omer Baljafla has indicated that drill serves the objectives of testing hotels emergency plan implementation, efficiency and effectiveness of local authorities of strategic partners, and how far they understand their assigned tasks in accordance to set plans, and testing standby levels and ability to implement emergency plans
National Military services Recruits Batch "11" Conduct First Inspection Visit
11, attached to Dubai Civil Defense has accompanied preventive safety inspectors in its first inspection visit to establishments and residential buildings to make sure that Safety measures are in place. Batch 11 is the first NMS squad, attached to Ministry of Interior, which attended 3 weeks specialized training followed by second stage advance specialized training course aims to improve their skills and efficiency,then recruits were distributed to different Police units to implement applied practical programs.
Captain Khalid Saeed Altiniji, acting director of preventive Safety department, emphasized that Inspection visits show Dubai Civil Defense dedication to implement highest fire safety standards, and other measures to avoid fire incidents risks, adding NMS recruits participation is to enhance their capabilities and to bring about the basic and special training acquired in armed forces and Abu Dhabi Civil Defense centers respectively, seek to achieve strategic goals and enhancing their gratitude towards homeland
DCD Reviews Coca cola Arena Safety Measures
Dubai Civil Defense has reviewed the Safety measures at Coca cola Arena to ensure they are in place, in order to avoid fire incidents risk and live and properties protection, before the facility is officially inaugurated.New facility which will host 17 thousands audiences , will double the responsibility of Dubai Civil Defense in safeguarding it, due to its operational nature as hosting global artists and sports events,exhibitions and entertainment programs.
Fire teams at Ithad fire station have carried out integrated surveys to ensure new facility is provided with the necessary safety and security measures,in line with the mutual cooperation between the two parties, and to also ensure installed fire suppression equipment are in a good working conditions, fire alarms readiness in case of fire eruption, and public general are aware about how to use emergency exits at times of emergency.
DCD Hosts "Aan Gourb" Program For People of Determination Training and Awareness
Dubai Civil Defense has hosted a training and outreach program for people of determintion dubbed "Aan Gourb" ,organized by Dubai center for people of determination care and rehabilitation, to train them on basic services delivered by government entities. This drive comes in line with efforts to instill the directives of the wise leadership to empower and enhance people of determination role in the society and federal/public and private labour market.
Brig.Rashid Albufalsa Chairs Customers Happiness Centres Meeting
Brig.Rashid Khalifa Albufalsa, assistant director for Smart services, has chaired Customers Happiness Centers meeting.Issues discussed in the convened meeting include brief revision of last meeting agenda, recommendations implemented and practical steps taken to improve online delivered services, to keep pace with performance indicators mapped out by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid,Vice President,Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to assess Government services centers. Brig.Rashid indicated that services procedures will be completed to exceed set indicator.
Meeting was also attended by Lt.Col.Expert Abdulrahman Balshalat, director of smart systems department, Lt.Col. Abdulrahman AL Ali ,deputy director of Communications Systems, Esa Balshalat director of Information technology and Lady Maryam Bin Gluata head of Innovation Section
DCD Unveils Summer Training Program for Students
Dubai Civil Defense Department has unveiled the training program set to target both high schools and universities students, which will takes place between 14/07 to 8/8/ 2019.launched training program seeks to provide students with the required skills and working experiences needed by the job market in the future.
Captain Omer AlMarri, acting director of training and performance development department, supervised the distribution of the students based on their speciality, in the various DCD'S departments and sections. He also emphasized that integrated training program is prepared by Dubai Civil Defense,in line with its role to be played in serving the community, to orient future leaders skills and train them to out fit in future sustainability drive

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University Honors DCD
As a part of Partners Forum events 2019,Dubai Civil Defense was honored by Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University in line with its efforts to enhance strategic ties with partners from public and private sectors.
Maj.gen.expert Rashid Thani Almatrooshi,director general of Dubai Civil Defense was represented in honoring ceremony by Major Dr.abdullrahm Mohammed Albaloushi, acting director of financial department and Lt. Nasser Ali Saqr Alsweidi who received the certificate of honor from Dr. Mansour Alawar, University Chancellor.
For his part Maj.Dr. Albaloushi has praised University initiative, saying Hamdan Smart University our strategic partner, and we cooperate positively to improve and upgrade our delivered services, in order to foster the quality life of the society
Brig. Bin Aadid Honors DUCAB Company
Brig.Jamal Bin Aadid Almuherie, assistant director of Dubai Civil Defense for Resources and support services has honoured Mr.Hassan Omer, CEO of Dubai Cables PVT Company, and its working staff. Honouring ceremony comes in line with the efforts to booster partnership and cooperation, and in recognition of DUCAB role in fire testing operations. DCD Organizes "Dolphin Firefighting " Training Course
Department of Dubai Civil Defense has organized 3 weeks training course using Dolphin Firefighting System,for firefighters from regional Civil Defense departments across UAE.The organized course which attended by 17 firemen, focused on flying, control and balancing in dealing with marine fire incidents in more professional way,resupplying fire suppression apparatuses during incident, skills required to drive jet ski to overcome weather and climatic changes.
Trainees acknowledged that they have acquired experience and knowledge which booster their efficiency to handle shoreline fire incidents and water facilities, and how to use Dolphin Firefighting equipment in battling different types of fires.They have also praised the training teaching staff.
For his part, Major Khalfan Bin Dismal, director of marine fire department stressed that, the course aims to empower firefighters to quickly deal with fires erupting around the beaches and water facilities, as the new Dolphin Firefighting system is considered an innovative and highly effective method. During the 21 days of the course,trainees received extensive training on ways to use and acquire the needed skills.
Gen.ALMatrooshi Makes a Child Dream Come True
During his visit to the People of Detemination club, Maj.gen.expert Rashid Thani Almatrooshi, Dubai Civil Defense Director General has made in a special gesture, the dream of the child Mohammed Ahmed Almulla to possess a guitar to play his favorite hobby, to become true.
The gifted Guitar was accorded to Mohammed during special ceremony held by Dubai Civil Defense to honor people of determination club, at the HQ premises, in recognition of its valued roke towards them and postive participation in all the initiatives and events that make them happy. Mohammed felt thrilled while receiving the instrument.
Almatrooshi has emphasized that bringing smile to children's faces doesn't cost much, especially small gifted things can bring a ray of hope to them. People of Determination need support, ongoing encouragement and postive community participation
