Under the Patronage of Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani Rashid AlMatrooshi Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Civil Defense QH organizes the 9 edition of the UAE Fire Safety Forum, on 29 if April 2019, at Palazzo Versace Hotel Dubai, ith a wide participation of government entities representatives, Fire Departments Chiefs from Worldwide, Strategic Partners, fire experts, and Companies dealing in fire equipment..
UAE fire safety Forum is an international platform held annually in the emirate of Dubai, where international renowned fire experts showcase the best practices and experiences witnessed by fire safety field, raising innovative solutions and ideas deemed necessary to sustain development required to achieve fire safety equipment and apparatus goals. This event is also considered as one of the prominent forums in the line of fire safety specialty, due to the fact that associated symposiums, conferences, work papers and other events held on the sideline contains useful projects.
The list of speakers who will deliver speeches at the forum includes Col. Expert Ali Hassan Almutawaa, assistant director of Dubai Civil Defense for Fire and Rescue affairs, Paul Walker, Crown Wool fire Chief, England, John Rankel, Expert at American Association of Material Testing, Eng. Hope Jiang Tai Fire Safety Engineers Society Vice-president Malaysia, Dr. Sebastian Yuklia, head of Testing Section at Emirates Safety Laboratory.
AlMatrooshi stressed on the importance of UAE Fire Safety Forum, organized by DCD every year, in line with the Country directives to sustain the development of all government entities, therefore we are committed to organize such types of events and forums, and our held event is first of its kind in the region, for its unique solutions presented in the field of specialty.
The forum aims to enhance awareness, discuss best international practices, environment preservation, raising innovative ideas beside studying best practices, AlMatrooshi added.
He also indicated that the forum witnesses sessions to discuss the best strategies, solutions and fire safety future projects, to ensure the required progress is achieved.
AlMatrooshi praised also the success of the previous forums in achieving their set goals, stressing 9th edition is considered a step further towards UAE society.
From his side, Col. Expert Almutawaa indicates that Dubai Civil Defense is very keen to have the valued participation of the strategic partners, Civil Defense delegations from across the globe in this forum, to share experiences and expertise, study ways to enhance the success in fire safety field, reshaping the future, focusing on innovation and creation. He also stressed that the 9th of fire safety forum will witness the showcase of latest technologies in the fire testing and Inspection. Col. Expert Almutawaa Casts light on Emirates Safety Laboratory, as the first government safety laboratory in the Middle East, which is expected to enhance the image of UAE globally.
The forum is a good opportunity for all concerned, innovative, and specialized persons in fire safety to take part and showcase their innovative ideas and solutions, and expand in the artificial intelligence axes, Concluded Almutawaa.
Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid AlMatrooshi Director General of Dubai Civil Defense has honored DCD'S Officers who have attended Smart Management Course, held at Habtoor Polo Hotel, between 23-25 April 2019, and was delivered by Col. Dr Mohammed Abdullrahman Alahmad, Director of Electronic Services Department at Ras Alkhima Police GHQ, in the presence of Brig. Rashid Khalifa AlFalasi, assistant Director for Smart Services, Col. Expert Ali Hassan Almutawaa, assistant director for Fire and Rescue affairs.
Worth to mention that held course comes in line with Dubai Civil Defense strategy plan and its trend for ongoing training and knowledge sustainability across all DCD'S categories, where the smart management course has focused on ways to help attendees to acquire knowledge about factors affecting internal and external specialized activities, raising Dubai Civil Defense employees efficiency and capabilities, helping to take best decisions.
Col. Dr Mohammed Abdullrahman was also honored by Gen. ALMatrooshi, who appreciated his sincere efforts during the course to ensure positive results are achieved in the future. Such courses are essential to enhance specialized cadres efficiency and maintain the successful achieved.
Dubai Civil Defence GHQ has conducted strategic drill at Rashid Port Water Front, in association with its strategic partners including Dubai Police, Dubai Manucipiality, Dubai Corporation For Ambulance service, Red Crescent Authority Dubai, National Authority for Crisis and Disasters Management, DEWA,RTA,Dubai Health Authority and Dubai Dry Dock International Company.
The drill performed comes in line with Dubai Civil Defence strategic plan to ensure preparation and readiness to respond to emergency incidents, and enhance successful partnership with the strategic partners.
Operation scenario began when DCD's Central Operations room received at 9:00 am fire incident report from Dubai Police Operations room, that a fire was broke out on a ship at Rashid Port, and immediately when the alarm was sound, the fire wardens began evacuating the crew and labour of the vessel, till the arrival of Civil Defence fire Squads from Ithad fire station, including mobile operations unit, early intervention vehicle, Hazmat protection unit,then initial fire scene assessment report was handed to Incident Commander, followed by distribution of firefighting teams to commence the fighting operations as per scenario set to deal with such situations, support was demanded from Karma fire station as a backup and Support unit, and the avilability of marine fire and rescue boats at incident scene helped to control the incident in a record time.
Lt.Col Abdullah Alhr Alswaidi, MOI assessment committee representative, has indicated that conducting such type of drill is considered very important, as marine sector is one of the basic sectors which booster the economy and tourism industry.strategic drill always enhances plans and scenarios testing to make sure they are suitable to handle similar emergency situations, and serve as an appropriate platform for strategic partners to check their readiness each in its specialty, specialy Civil Defence, also positively contribute in rasing human cadres efficiency and equipment and appartus effectiveness

Brig.Jamal Bin Aadid Almuheri, assistant director for Resources and Support Services has visited the new customers happiness centre project site at Dubai Civil Defence HQ , visit was organised by construction projects section at Services and Supplies Department.During his visit Brig.Almuheri previewed the completed stages of the project, new centre will be equipped with the most sophisticated technologies and devices to ensure Customers happiness is achieved.

Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid AlMatrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defense has organized a brainstorm session, where he demonstrated Monitoring and Inspection Department initiatives and suggestions for 2019, focused on the usage of Smart applications in performing the department assigned tasks. Session was held in the presence of 1st Lt. Eisa Almutawaa, Acting Director of Monitoring and Inspection Department and Lt. Rashid Hilal head of field monitoring section.
Brig. Jamal Bin Aadid Almuheiri, assistant director for Fire and Rescue Resources and Support Services, chaired a meeting with Carbon Centre delegation, a centre that specialized in installing Photovoltaic panels, to review the installation of the same panels in the Car Parking at Dubai Civil Defense HQ, as part of Dubai Civil Defense drive towards implementation of practices that lead to increase the efficiency water and energy to reduce bad impact on humans health.
The meeting was attended by Lt. Col Jamal Ahmed Ibrahim, Director of Services and Supplies Department, Capt. Fahad Saleh Bukhashum, head of maintenance section, Eng. Sukania Hussain, Head of Construction projects and Eng. Abdullah Ahmed from Construction Projects Section.
Brig. Almuheiri stressed that Dubai Civil Defense is working as per Dubai Government directives towards expanding the green buildings, by implementing green buildings standards on all buildings and establishments in emirate of Dubai, preserving natural resources, indicating there are some scientific steps to implement to make changes, by utmost utilization of resources in creating suitable environment for employees to deliver and receive services via different Dubai Civil Defense platforms.
Brig.Jamal Bin Aadid Almuheri, assistant director for Resources and Support Services and Lt.Col.Expert Juma Mohammed Mubark director of Emirates Academy for Civil Defence have attended the advanced training course for Masks and Breathing Apparatuses, held at the Emirates Academy for Civil Defence. Graduates include candidates from Dubai Civil Defence and Dubai Police. Course topics encompass types and specifications of Masks,ways to donn BA,types of Gases breathing Apparatus protect from as well as masks health and occupational safety aspects
Maj. Gen. Expert Rashid AlMatrooshi Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, has received today at his office official delegation from Directorate General of Aqaba Civil Defense, Kingdom of Jordan Hashemite, led by Lt. Col Eng. Mohammed Sulieman Almajali, to preview the best practices applied in dealing professionally with fire incidents management, beside reviewing central operations room latest equipment. Convened visit comes as a part of joint cooperation between Dubai Civil Defense Department and its counterpart department across the globe to exchange information, knowledge and expertise in the field of fire and rescue.

In line with Dubai Civil Defense social initiatives, and in a bid to translate social understanding initiatives launched by Col. Expert Ali Hassan Almutawaa, assistant director for Fire and Rescue affairs, to interact with fire and rescue sector employees social events to enhance work ties amongst them, Col. Almutawaa, Fire Stations Directors and members of Development Council celebrated the rejoining of Lt. Col. Expert Osmam Ahali, after he recovered from his injury. Col Almutawaa stressed that this act reflects warm ties and love among department family members.
Col.Expert Ali Hassan Almutawa, assistant director for Fire and Rescue affairs, Deputy Chairman of Fire and Rescue Development Council, has chaired its routine meeting held in the presence of the members of the Council encompass Lt.Col Expert Ahmed Kemidish, Lt.Col Expert Hussain Mohammed Alrahoumi, Lt.Col.Expert Rashid Hussein Alsumatie, Lt.Col Mattran Khalil, Lt.Col Expert Pilot Osman Ahali and Lt.Fatima Almarzouqi head of Strategy at Fire and Rescue Sector. Suggestions proposed to the Development Council were discussed.
Maj.Gen.Expert Rashid AlMatrooshi Director General of Dubai Civil Defence has chaired a meeting, to review "Muoasafti application Business Continuity and Information Security Project" proposed by Department of Strategy and Policies in association with Information Technology Department, in line with HQ strategy and plans to support Dubai Government Strategy, and its keeness to create and maintain business continuity plans in different departments.
Convened meeting was attended by Lady Afaf Jassim Almuheri director of Strategy and Polices and Mr Esa BAlshalat Director of Information Technology Department and concerned bodies in the two entitie.
